They're short enough that they can't reach the food on the counter and they're heavy enough they can't jump on the counter to get it!

Why do you love Corgis?

hmmmm, i guess you havent met Lance....hehe.... We have to be careful about leaving things too close to the edge of the counters, or he will snatch it!!!! Of course its food, it doesnt happen often but has happened :O.

I love corgis for their great personalities, full of character.
We also have a food snatcher! Wynn will take the couch, climb over our 1/2 wall and onto the table(not counter) and can actually jump up on the table but doesn't usually do this! Sooooooo my reason I love my corgis is their loyalty!
I love corgis because they are such great comedians. Frosty does something that makes me laugh every single day. And he doesn't have to snatch things off our counters, because my low down dirty rotten husband keeps feeding him from the table lol (and then complains that Frosty mootches at the table now, hmmmm, wonder why???)
Obviously, you never met this Corgi:

I know, I watch too much Youtube!
Oh my! That was quite the Corgi! At the beginning I was wondering why he didn't clean the plate better but he sure did a better clean up the second, third, and forth time!

Rio would do anything for a treat and is a beggar extraordinaire. But thankfully, even without training, she will never take anything without being invited, even when you're not around. I left a small pile of doggy treats on the stairs (her favorite place to sit) for several days and she never touched them. Now about that barking...haha
Lol
The first thing besides how friendly they were was that they didn't smell like a dog. I love their personality all around!! Bossy, loving, loyal etc....
Ha ha, I do love that mine can not reach the counter but we have cats and a doberman so that is a "keep clear" area in our home. I love that they make people smile when they see them and they have strong personalities! When I did obedience with my Golden and with my Standard Poodle you could tell they were thinking "what does she want me to do" with the corgis it is "do I want to do that". For some reason I find that very amusing. Cat people make great corgi owners.
Oh, I agree! Cat people make great Corgi owners! When we are in classes with other people and their dogs disobey, sometimes they get annoyed. When mine do I just laugh and laugh. You definitely need a sense of humor to be happy with a Corgi!

That's what I love best about mine is how comical they are. Mine are totally opposite in personality, but both find their own Corgi ways to get what they really want in the end.
I have been a cat person all my life. Bucher was my first dog and I totally fell in love! I also find their strong personalities fun. My Dad who is 82 was over last night and Bo put on a show!! He tries to get anyone new over to give him his treats and also brings out his toys for them to try to take away from him!! He isn't real good with the drop or give thing! He kept my parents entertained for over 1/2 hour!!
When I first thought about getting a corgi, it was for similar reasons. They are short enough that they can"t sniff peoples butts, they don"t have a tail to wack you with, they have a big dog attitude and temperament in a small dog body, and are not prissy, their fur is not real short but they don't take a lot of grooming either ( like going and being sheared ) they are smart but not push overs ( I guess that is the cat thing haha) They need to be walked ( I need motivation to walk haha) They make funny noises, and they are the cutest things. I just love my Quin.
I have lots of reasons. They always smell nice, they have quirks, they have this big corgi smile, they are little hellions, they are small enough to have lap time, they are just the beautifulis doggies in the world..
