Does anyone know of a pet friendly pesticide that I can get at my basic store? I have spiders and other creepy crawlers coming in my home! And I would really love something that won't harm my pooches.

Hi elizabeth, my husband recently bought a pesticide in Home Depot. They called Ecosmart

here is the link if you want to know :

let me warn you they smell odd and weird.. I cannot explain but pretty strong too. I think they are safe because Louie already proof it.

I don't know what your basic store mean but i hope you have home depot near you. Hope helps!

I wa actaully reading about a home made pesticide I thought I would try. I guess spiders and bugs hate mint so you get mint oil mix with water and spray around the house. Smells good to!

i never know that, maybe i need to try someday. Thanks for letting me know :D

Do you know how and where they are getting in?  A few bugs will always make their way into a home. If you have a whole lot, honestly it's better to try to figure out where they are coming from.  Things like dehumidifiers can make basements less hospitable to bugs.  Calk and foam not only keep out some bugs, but help with heating/cooling costs.   Older homes frequently have space between the foundation and frame and resealing that also helps with heating and cooling while minimizing space where bugs can get in.  If bugs can get in, mice likely can to so even more reason!

Diatomaceous earth.   Make sure it's food grade, not for the pool.  Pool stuff is poisonous to people and pets, but the food grade is added to cow and horse feed to keep it from clumping.  It will kill pesties by scratching their exoskeletons so they dehydrate.

Don't hurt the spiders unless you like bugs.  Spiders are predators.  They eat flies, bugs, and smaller spiders.  They don't eat you, or your dogs.  They're like wasps, who eat the caterpillars that eat you garden, and don't bother you unless you blunder too close to their nest.

There is a company called FleaBusters that will dust your home with sodium polyborate salts (borax, basically).  It's a dessicant, not a neurotoxin.  We got very good results with them back when we had wall-to-wall carpet and 1 cat.

Spiders think I'm creepy, too... and I'm a lot bigger.  I just leave them alone.

Caveat:  Brown Recluse and Black Widow spiders are genuinely venomous, and I would not want them around.  Not a problem where I live (Seattle).

Well we do have brown recluse here in Wenatchee and tons of black widows... Plus I'm allergic to grass spiders :/ I for like killing bugs either. I'm a huge nature freak. That's why I think ongoing to do the water mixed with mint because spiders hate mint so instead of killing them it will keep them away. We don't have many brown recluse here but we do have a few.
I have usef bay leaves above door frames...did it work...too many years ago to remember but it won't hurt.

I've actually used 20 Mule Team borax around the house as well.   My parents used it for oriental cockroaches we had every spring.   Pesticides didn't work, roach motels didn't work, but borax around the perimeter stopped them cold.  Our elderly neighbor suggested it--said they'd done it since he was a kid.

I'm not sure what an usef bay leaf is :/ or if we have them here I live in a small valley in Washington state. And iv never heard of the borax! Does it kill them or just keep them away?
I believe Borax only works when they ingest it. You use it for ants and things. I would think a spider would have to eat another bug that first ate the borax....

Another thought is beneficial insects which will help with some things, like fleas.   Besides spiders, there are nematodes, which live in the soil, so they won't come in your house and look creepy :).     I know there are specifically flea nematodes and you can buy them from organic gardening supply places.    I can't remember what else there are, but it's worth a look if you're interested.
