Please help Molly and I
I am really at a loss on what to do. Molly is 9 mo old and a real lover. She goes to extremes to go out side and do what she needs to.Max still has problems with that every once in a while. It seems like every other week she'll have runny stools and then she kind of drips all over.Her eyes are still a little runny but the vet says she'll be fine. The runny stools are another thing. When she does it she feels bad and then she rolls over on her back so she can have her bottom cleaned and her tummy rubbed. Does ant one have any ideas on what we can do? thanks in advance.

What does the vet say about the loose stools? They should not have that very often. What quality is your dog food?

Yes...definatly could be a food thing and to stay away from food scraps.Otherwise has your dog been checked by a vet...I'm not sure but I just talked with someone today tjat I think said their dog had a bacterial infection and that may have been the cause of some loose stools! I'll update this if not correct!

Did they do a fecal exam and labs to rule out any infections or anything?
I think if all infections are ruled out, the first thing I would do is bring her down to just dog food and nothing else. No treats, no scraps, no rawhides or any other edibles. If the problem resolves, then slowly add treats back in one at a time til you find the culprit.
If eliminating the treats does not help, a change in dogfood may be in order. Jack used to frequently have soft stools. Not runny, but sticky and soft and enough to make a mess of his behind. We changed his food to lamb and rice and that pretty much eliminated the problem.

My pup Morgan gets soft poop and diarhea at least once a week. He is also a little devil and gets into a lot of stuff. If you can, try to add chicken and rice to her diet. If you are not sure you can ask your vet before making any changes. My vet tol me that is an easy way to make your dog feel better. It does not solve the issue, especially if there is an underlying cause such as worms but it will quiet their stomach and make their pottys a little more comfortable.
I would ask the vets office, (just call and ask) if you can add this to her food:
1/3 skinless boiled white chicken meat
1/3 boiled rice
1/3 cottage cheese

I would say food, and the runny eyes could be allergies.

loose stool can also be triggered by stress, moving, new addition to the family just to name a few. You can try adding some boil rice to see if it'll firm up.

Would definately check with your vet on this, so many things can cause this problem. We keep a can of pumpkin handy, just a little while back Sami had very runny stools, figured it was something she ate we gave her a couple teaspoons that night next morning things were back to normal, kept her on it for a few days and haven't had any more problems. Good luck.
