Becca and I had a huge scare last night. We are visiting my mother. She got into something on our walk, ate it, I figured it was a poop. Apparently it wasn't. At about 9:15 I notice she is shaking like she has Parkinson's, lack of pee control too.

I called the vets emergency contact info. Thank god I had gotten her records faxed and made arrangements for her to be a patient at this practice. The take only their patients in emergencies. Anyway we were met there by one of the vets at ten. The vet thinks she ingested a drug. Becca got sub cu fluids and activated charcoal. They don't have overnight facilities, so she came home w me. I had to check her and take her out every hour. It was a hard night. I was so stressed I wanted to barf.

This morning is much better. The vet said it would take 12-24 hours to get completely out of her system. She isn't shaking, ate and has played w a squeaky. I just wish I knew for sure what she got into.

Oh my gosh! What a scary thing to have happen. Hope all is well, and stays well, for Becca!

Oh, that's awful!   I also worry when they eat something I don't see until some time has passed.   Hopefully she will continue to improve.   Please keep us posted on your girl.

Scary is right!  I'm so glad she is feeling better this morning and continues to improve.  You are going to need a nap for sure.  Please keep us posted on how Becca is doing.

Oh my....that would be scary. Good thing you were so efficient and had the info you needed:) Glad she's doing better!!!

Poor girl!  What a scare - I'm glad it's all working out fine!

So far so good. Becca seems about back to normal. She has slept more than normal today and didn't want to go for a walk. I'm still feeling stressed and way tired.

I think it does take people longer to get over things...we think too much:)

Glad to hear she's feeling better.  Hopefully you can both sleep well tonight.  Poor Becca.

Very scary! I am so glad she is doing better.

OMG. I took Becca for a walk this morning and she snatched and ate something again! I was paying attention to an approaching car. It has been almost two hours and no symptoms. I'm a basket case.

Little devil...but then that's a corgi, often getting into things they are NOT suppose to!...hope it's nothing!!!!

I'm not sure what she ate today, but no ill effects. I need to figure out a way to deal with the snatch, chew, swallow she does. If I try to take anything she skips the chewing and just swallows. At home on the sidewalk it is easier to see what is coming and avoid it. I would hate to resort to a basket muzzle.
