Over the past several weeks I have noticed a need in Tomahawk to enforce any corrections I give out to our other pets.
I tend to make a "CHHHT" sound to let our animals know when they are doing something wrong, but when I do, Tomahawk is right there beside me giving his most authoritative bark, or runs around our cat or pitbull and tries to nip them.
I am wondering if anyone else has a corgi who loves to enforce the house rules, and if so, should I worry about it progressing to more aggressive behavior?
What can I do to make him understand that his help is not needed?

Oh, Jane! I'm so sorry about what happened to you. This helps make the point that even an experienced dog person such as you are can get hurt when trying to manage situations with multiple animals, as anyone who has had these situations will readily attest. I hope others can ponder this and adjust their sails accordingly. Healing thoughts to you.
Oh Jane!! That looks painful! You are so right.
Hand injuries are just the worst! Was this recent? If so, make sure you get the BEST OT, and you do all your exercises! I, too, have seen fights break out over seemingly nothing, and my stupid reactions could so easily lead to injury. A very good reason to remove a known problem like the cat food!
It was 5 weeks ago. I have gone from 4 fingers in a 1/2 cast to now my broken one and the 2 that got free last week are quite stiff and swollen too. I have to wait till it is healed to go to OT but am doing some exercises right now. It is going to be a long time for things to get back to normal and I never realized how hard it is to do things 1 handed such as using a can opener or many other easy things:(
Thanks Beth...I never would have guessed that having a 25# corgi in each hand would cause soooo much damage.
They did keep lunging toward each other and I guess my hand must have twisted.
I just loved reading all this information, I learn so much hanging around here. Chepstow is the biggest tattletale and enforcer. I do love the fact that he lets me know when Tenby (our free spirit) is doing something wrong. The biggest problem we have is Tenby barks at people when they come in the house (from across the room) while Chepstow is welcoming them at the door. Chepstow then runs over and barks in Tenbys face saying " this is rude, stop barking". Chepstow runs back to the people at the door with this "I am so sorry my brother is rude". Soon all barking stops and everyone is happy.
