Wendy, I imagine that Gromit would be delighted to have R/R here for a few days as a playmate, if not forever.  Whether or not the house would still be standing after a week would be the big question.  However, I would prefer that you and Jack remain on this side of the sod and continue to live happily ever after with Lucy and the Rafinator.

@ Jane - Funny you mentioned Ricky having a better decorating theme. My 2 decorators were out yesterday and I think they both would love to take him home with them. But, he's ours...for better or worse...richer or poorer...

He's our, as they say, "forever dog." it sounds so cheesy as it relates to RR, but he's our boy. Wish all you guys could come out and stay with us for a few days. You'd fall in love with RR and Lucy.

@ Doug - Just read your comment on only the good die young. Be careful. I have all the papers drawn up, and you, my friend, are the god-father to Rafa. The line goes around the block for Lucy! J/K. Actually, there's a waiting list for R/R. He has a definite charm. And he LOVES babies. He should run for president!

@Doug & Gromit - Rafa (Nadal) will have his hands full on Monday. The Corgi curse ended last year when Rafa won all 4 slams. Now he just needs to get his #1 standing back by winning the US Open. And, yeah, I'm a little (or more than a little) disappointed that Rafa Nadal doesn't like dogs, but I'm not THAT disappointed that I'd consider naming him Newton. Maybe Figgie...hahaha.

PS  Changing his name from Rafa to Ricky hardly rehabilitated him! Maybe he needs to go to Camp Doug & Gromit when the AZ environs cool. We could send him for a few months of rehab!

Wendy, it's never too late to change R/R's name to Newton.   It could completely rehabilitate him!

@Doug- I just learned during this match that the 3 things Rafa Nadal dislikes are: wet shirts, ham and cheese sandwiches and dogs. I was stunned. I never would have named R/R after him if I knew he disliked dogs. He's one of the few people I love that doesn't like dogs. Go know. Maybe he was bitten as a kid, or terrorized by a neighborhood dog. Nadal needs to meet R/R. A sweeter, more gentle Corgi, who happens to be quite naughty, would be hard to find.

Doug, I just reread your comment on Rafa being the King of Naughty Corgis. I responded with the Baron of Bad, when I should have written the King of Kraaazy. A king always trumps a baron. Don't forget that Ricky/Rafa is your Corgi godson. You better pray each night for Jack & me staying healthy and out of harms way, haha. BTW, R/R's namesake, Rafa Nadal just won the US Open semi-final. He faces his biggest opponent, of late, the Joker, Djokovic on Monday. Go RAFA.

Wendy, hopefully "The Curse of the Corgi" will not kick in an Nadal will triumph.  But then in celebration your Rafa will chew the tires off of your car or something.

haha. even as i put my glasses on (to watch federer in his semi-final match), i have to chuckle at the band-aid on my glasses, courtesy of R/R having eaten off the tip of every pair. i'm waiting for the next semi-final match, when R/R's namesake, Rafa Nadal plays. Go RAFAAAA.
