Well, my pup will be too young for most Christmas celebrations. Our town has a week celebration called Christmas on the River, we have a day parade down the streets and a night parade on the river, along with a lot of other stuff that week. I am hoping that next year, Wynstan and I will be on one of the floats during the day parade

Fresh cranberry salad with lots of whip cream is a must for my Thanksgiving and I hope to get the tree up sometime this weekend!

This will be Luther's first Christmas with me. He doesn't yet know that I expect him to wear antlers to Christmas lunch.... (snigger) He's been invited to his first social event - a Corgi Xmas party on Dec 5th. Don't think he'll be winning the prize for Best Costume though. Best Smile maybe.

yeah, lots of yummy turkey for LO. Maybe some mashed taters too. I am sure he will want to be in the middle of things when we get the tree up too (artificial) our corgis sure are nosy.....LOL

ooooo, turkey for LO on Saturday and a tree trimming the next day!!! Sounds like a busy week for you and a lot of fun for the weekend. Let us know how the tree trimming goes, you can be our guinea pig.
Any good recipes you have for Thanksgiving??

We usually wait unitl the second weekend in December. OUr house is so small, finding room for a tree is a big task!
When we had a real tree (before Sidney) we would put a child gate around it . It was the type made up of connected panels that could be arranged in a circle, or spread out like a wall. It's easy to form a barrier around a tree with one of those.

I am reminded of my favorite Holiday movie(Christmas Vacation) when the dog laps up all the water from the tree and the Uncle tosses his cigar ash on the tree and the whole thing is engulfed in flames!! OMG! what a hoot. Anyway I'm thinking that Edward will take our tree for his peeing post and I'm not sure what I'm going to do about that. Maybe as Nancy suggested, we'll put it in a separate room this year! What a quandry!!! When do you guys put up your trees????

This is our first Christmas with Potus and we've been wondering how he's going to go with the tree. We always have a real tree and I'm a bit of a Christmas perfectionist so no doubt there'll be ornaments on the lower branches. I'm also worried that he's going to drink out of the stand/bowl the Xmas tree sits in. My plan is to go out and buy a fireplace guard, something we can use to protect Po from the heater in winter and use to protect the tree from Po in summer (We live in Australia so Christmas=summer) Hopefully this will work as the tree is kept in the corner of the room.
I'm so excited for Po's first Christmas with us though- we bought his stocking last month!
