I just go McSquizzy about a month ago from a neglecting home in Richmond VA, first time corgi owners that said he barked and shed too much! A good friend of the family (and fellow corgi owner) found out about him and took him in, got in touch with my family since I was looking for a corgi and Squizz was a prefect match for our household since day one. He has been such a joy to our household and such a loving affectionate dog!! After getting our first three corgis from breeders, rescuing is the way to go!! There are too many loving and wonderful dogs that need help!!!

My Rescues. Lodie and Izzy. Both were severly neglected and possibly abused. They are both way cool dogs. Someone else's loss was our gain.

I just rescued one yesterday from an animal hospital -- it was an owner/surrender! Haven't had him for 24 hours yet, but he's cute and adorable! The other Corgis I've had and have were both rescues, one from a breeder who was downsizing, and one was found as a stray after a rain storm! Finding the one in the rain storm, Ladygirl, RIP, was the catalyst for my getting into rescue dog transport, which I do on weekends all over the State of Oklahoma and Texas. My main focus is on Corgis because I love and am familiar with the breed, but I've also rescued Boxers, Cairn Terriers, Irish Wolfhounds, Shelties, Schnauzers, Jack Russell, and all have gone to great forever homes.

Both of our boys were rescued this time. We had our Basil for 14 years before we had to send him to Rainbow Bridge and had waited nearly a year before we were ready to have another. We joined Corgi Rescue here in Britain, but had not heard for some time. I went exploring on the internet 10 days ago and found our boys at a kennels some 3 hours away. Both were given to the kennels by their breeders as they were the last in the litter and had not sold. Archie had been in kennels for 3 months with no interest, and Reggie had been there for 3 weeks with no interest either. We were initially going to choose one or the other, but when we met the boys it was impossible to pick either, so now we have both!! We have our hands full, but they are great fun and would not now be without them!

I got Ein from animal shelter 6 years ago, they were going to have his front leg cut off, it is just clubbed and he needs it! Also, he was almost 70 pounds!! I have never seen a dog that fat in my life! He actually wouldn't have been able to walk at all without his bad leg. He shrugged like a walrus! Now he is less than half the dog he was! Running around and enjoying life! He is about 12 years old now, the love of my life! I took in Lilly Munster about a year ago, also a special needs corgi puppy!! (3 years) They are awesome!!

We stumbled on Jax. We stopped at an adoption Tent that several different rescues use. Jax and his brother were both there along with their foster. I fell in love with Jax at first site. He is terrific with the kids and is in love with toes. LOL

I could not imagine my life without him.

We got Sophie from the Corgi rescue in Ontario, Canada. I had applied to the rescue for a Corgi only a few weeks prior to being notified that one had become available. When we went to see her, it was love at first sight and we adopted Sophie right there on the spot. She is eight years old, and we've had her a little over a year. She is a special little girl!
