Profile Information

Hometown:
Glen Allen, VA
About Me:
We have a Tri-Colored Corgi named Ollie (short for Oliver Queen or Green Arrow to you DC comic book fans) and a Sable Corgi named Dinah (Black Canary, again for the comic book educated). Ollie is not happy with his new little sister, but we hope with time he will warm up and teach her all the things she needs to know about being a Corgi.
Welsh Corgi Breeder?
No
About My Corgi(s):
Ollie was born in early November, 2008. He's a pleasure to be around, and is the absolute cutest thing in the world. He's got a few freckles on his muzzle, and loves to sleep with his face stuck into couch cushions. He is extremely routine-oriented and gets a little fussy when things don't go his way. He talks to us with "honk" sounds and his nickname is Woogie or Woogums - he's the coolest...except when he's evil.

Dinah was born in April of 2011. Her personality is VERY different from Ollie's. She is more snuggly and MUCH more difficult to house train. We often call her "Potato" because that's what she looks like when she curls up in a little Corgi ball. She loves to bite Ollie and chase him around the house....typical annoying little sister behaviors. She is a great addition to our family.

Sick Corgi!!

Posted on September 15, 2010 at 6:58pm 9 Comments

Our little boy has Kennel Cough. I feel like the worst mommy ever. When we enrolled him in daycare, we were asked to provide our vet's name so that Ollie's shot records could be obtained. When I didn't hear from anyone, I assumed we had everything we needed.

Last night, Ollie woke us with a tremendous "HACK"....that isn't even the best word for it. It was a terrible sound. He kept doing it and spitting up froth and slime. I laid on the couch with him for a few hours, stroking his head… Continue

Elevated ALT

Ollie went to the vet yesterday for his 8 week post-op check-up. In May, he was neutered and had some stitches put in his left eye for a pretty nasty case of "cherry eye". Thankfully, we were able to have both procedures done at the same time to save Ollie from having to go under anesthesia twice. (It was also more cost-effective!)

The surgery came and went with no problems. Ollie's eye looked almost normal as soon as it was over. We… Continue

Just Complaining.

I tell ya - our puppy is the cutest thing in the world, but it's decieving. Ollie bites contantly. You cant touch him anywhere with him trying to bite you. If I try to substitute my finger for a toy, he'll bite the toy once or twice, then go after the fingers. Most of the times he'll ignore the toy all together and go for the fingers that are holding it! He bites our toes, our faces, our hair, out pant legs...anything. I realize he's still a brand new puppy... almost 10 weeks, but wow. It's… Continue

Vaccine reaction!!

Posted on January 12, 2009 at 10:30am 3 Comments

When Ollie went for his 9 weeks shots on thursday, he had a reaction to the vaccine. About an hour after the shot, his face (around his eyes, and his muzzle) started to swell up. By time we arrived back at the vet, his face looked like it had been stung by bees. The vet gave him a steroid and some benadryl, and asked that we stayed until the swelling was gone. It quickly went away (about 15 min), and we were told that he would need benadryl before any shots in the future. Apart from that, our… Continue

aww oliver is such a handsome corgi :) ein can also be very headstrong at times. i think its because he's still so young and going through his rebellious "teenage" phase. i'm sure that's what oliver is going through as well.

1. Appreciate the Ollie naming.
2. I feel your pain. Owen has a strong stubborn streak. My mom says I have met my match. We should start a support group. lol. We are still working on the nipping a bit. The barking has presented itself as the dominant display of defiance. The doggy day care folks say Owen has an opinion for everything.
3. Also laughed that my husband had many similar pictures when we first got Owen.
