Whining at night

Posted on March 23, 2009 at 12:27pm 2 Comments

I've looked through the forums and couldn't find something similar, so decided I'd try it this way.

Ein is now a bit over 1 year. He will wake up in the middle of the night and whine. This usually starts at about 4am and he just doesn't stop. We've tried ignoring him (we tried to out wait him about 2 hours but he continued whining). We think he is just lonely, but this is getting ridiculous. If he is tired enough, he'll sleep until 6am (when I get up), but it seems to take a lot to… Continue

Aggression on Leash

Posted on January 11, 2009 at 5:47pm 2 Comments

I need advice. My husband thinks I am over-reacting, but I think something needs to be done.

We adopted Ed in November. He is just over 1 year now and neutered. We've had Ein since July, he is just under a year and also neutered.

The boys have occasional issues in the house, probably about 5 fights a day. They fight over different things, attention, space, toys etc. We try to catch them if they are staring at each other and draw the attention away or spray the aggressor.… Continue

Sibling Rivalry?

Posted on December 27, 2008 at 11:24pm 2 Comments

I need your advice. We adopted Ein in July when he was 4 months old. He was neutered around the time that he was 6-7 months old and has been through 2 training classes. We adopted Ed in November when he was 1 year old. He had been neutered shortly before we adopted him. We haven't enrolled him in any training classes yet, but we are teaching him what we learned while teaching Ein.

Here's the problem, they fight a lot. I assume it is just because they are figuring out who is top dog, so I… Continue

Tina, I hope all is going wel with the extended family. Are Ed and Ein getting along well? How is feeding time going? It is always a little awkward at first when you bring someone new into the home. just like little kids they are going to test their limits and find where they belong. We have to adjust as well. Sounds like your little Ed is full of vinegar! It is always a challenge with two young dogs, but be patient. I have more than one that can be food aggressive, but now we have feeding time down to an art. Everyone knows where there bowl will be placed and no fights over food in a long time. It was a challenge at first. Lizzie They all have to check out each others bowls after they finish...just in case there is a little something left! All the best.

It isn't by a chance a 4 month old male that is currently in blaine? He is up to date on all of his shots and super sweet and cute. The current owners are getting rid of him because the little guy is afraid of their two big Rotwielwers (mispelled) and they want him to be happy so they are trying to find him a new home. He is great with kids and other dogs. He is posted on Craigslist : )

It was nice meeting you and Ein today! I am sorry that Brownie wouldn't stop humping Ein. Jeez - no manners! haha
Midgee and Brownie will sleep well tonight, I'm sure.
Hope to see you again sometime. Have a good weekend : )

HI! I'm planning on going to Alimagnet dog park in Burnsville on Saturday (the 25th) around noon. If you can make it, let me know!

I wasn't able to attend last week's gathering, so I'm trying to set up another meet and greet.

Hey Tina and Ein! Are you going to be able to make it out to the Burnsville dog park this saturday to meet with the rest of the MN corgi group? We are going to be there from 2-4. I know that there will be at least 7 corgis out there : )

Oh Man!! : ( The poor little guy! He looked like he was having and probably did have a ton of fun too. I hope he's okay and his leg heals with no additional problems. No day care, no dog park, no long walks. . . . how will he survive? And yes how will you survive? Hopefully he doesn't drive you to nuts will wanting to play all the time for the next 10 days.

Hey Tina, I thought I saw you on the Corgi Guile site! Are you going this weekend? I don't have a permit but Hunter and I are going anyway. I've heard that they don't check for permits.
