Mei the Wonder Corgi!

Profile Information

Hometown:
Baltimore, MD/Irvine, CA
About Me:
I'm a pharmacy student originally from California, but in Baltimore for school. I love dogs and especially Corgis now that I have one. I've only had a Yorkie before (passed down from my sister), so I have to say that Corgis are the best breed I have ever had.

I spend too much time on this website ><;;
About My Corgi(s):
Mei (pronounced May), was born August 1st, 2006. She was on sale at a petstore and I couldn't help but take her home. I mean...who puts a puppy for sale? And she was so scared looking...

Now she's wild and rambunctious. She'll bark at you if she has too much energy to burn and you're ignoring her. I try to walk her for at least a half hour a day, with an hour at the dog park as well. The best exercise she gets is at doggy day care. She never barks at home, but she'll bark all day long at day care.

She loves everyone though. There are no exceptions to this rule. She is one of the friendliest dogs you will ever meet.

Random facts:
-She likes to flip her water bowl (now she has a pot instead because she can't flip it)
-She likes digging into beds....and people....
-She doesn't know how long she is
-She tends to walk into things because she doesn't look where she's going

Noises

Posted on May 28, 2008 at 12:02am 8 Comments

This may sound really weird, but Mei is extremely scared of farting noises. It's become a joke in my family to make farting noises just to see her reaction. She starts off with a circle spin and then walks briskly to a corner. It could just be another Mei thing.

Broken Nail

Posted on May 13, 2008 at 11:58am 2 Comments

Mei broke her nail on Friday and I didn't realize it until today. =(

It bled on Friday, but I just thought that she got cut by the metal door frame. It started bleeding again today, so I looked closer and it was a broken nail. She has an e-collar on right now, but she can stick lick her paw. I guess it's not being of much use. Hopefully it'll heal fine. ^^;;

Btw, vet bill was $200.

hi mikonami,
dono how but i ended up on a post and you were saying that u have become a pro concerning plane trips, i decide to write you coz i need some suggestions and maybe you could help me or give me some tips.
It is the first time that she will get into a plane and i am not sure about what to do, she is very afraid of noises, i don't know if i have to give her pills or not, flight will be 3 hours 30 minutes and we will return in a week, I am a bit scared of giving her pills in that short amount of time, Is it dangerous for her?? what kind of pills should i give her???
Thanks and looking forward to hear from you.

Hey! Since the MD corgi group's leader has let the group fend for itself, we've created a new group so that Corgis in the DC/ MD area can meet up and stay in touch! Come join us!

How long have you been in Baltimore? Have you gone to Paper Moon or the Visionary Art Museum? You have to go! My Dad is from Baltimore, and I lived behind Pimlico Race Track for a year while I was in college. It is a really awesome city... I wonder when Hon-fest is....

Hi, Mei is so cute! I just saw a post about Mei digging in her bed, it was so wierd out of the blue a couple nights ago, our corgi started digging in his bed, he has never done this before! Then the next night again, not sure why he is doing this, have you figured out why Mei was digging in her bed. The only thing I can think of with lance's bed is that the fluff was not right in the bed like maybe it shifted too much or I felt like maybe he was trying to get to something under his bed, lifted the bed and their was nothing.....hmmmm....dont know! Natalie
P.S. Lance is 2 1/2 now and hasnt done this since he was a puppy but this time it was definately more intense than his puppy days!

hahah i snuck him in a gym bag!!! just kidding!!!

Every year, the local Major League Baseball people set aside one game a year where u can take your dogs! It's been going on for 10+ years, but this was our first one! Going to make it a tradition! Anyways, they had volunteers with jugs of water to refill free bowls they gave out, and we were segregated to the bleacher section of the stadium so cleanup would be controlled. =P We had a blast! I know other teams do it too besides the SF Giants, for instance the team across the bay, the Oakland A's - has a dog days of summer event too! It's great!
