Arrow is just about 8 months old and this week has decided he isn't eating kibble anymore. He got some but not many human scraps before but since his hunger strike hasnt gotten any. I had just…Continue

I am worried I have been walking Arrow too long/far. How long should a 6/7 month old puppy be walking? What about a hike once a week. Is a 2 mile hike once a week too much? I don't want to do any…Continue

Arrow won't walk unless I am with somebody else. But when it's just the two of us I will literally have to drag him around the grass as he lays down in each patch of grass we pass just eating…Continue

I have more and more friends starting to prepare cooked meals for their dogs instead of kibble. I would love to put together a list of links to send to them about proper nutrition and diet when its…Continue

I have been meaning to blog this whole time. So many mile markers. I feel almost guilty I haven't as mycorgi is hugely at fault for the obsessive corgi disorder leading into the tailed pem passion. Anyway.
Arrow is the best. I am certainly biased but everyone else I know tells me this too. He is EXACTLY the dog I was looking for. Loves to hike and run and play but is so gentle and social and trainable. With the little dogs he bounces and barks and dashes and the big dogs he…

IT HAPPENED!!!
I was just confirmed to pick up my dream dog just after Christmas. A week ago I found these puppies from this https://fundrazr.com/campaigns/dbOJb fundraiser for Willa, a corgi rescue who was pregnant. THEIR TAILS WEREN'T DOCKED. They were in California. Happy Birthday Caitlin....hope you and Arrow are having fun!!!!!!! Please update us:)
How are you 2 doing????
PS read various blogs for tips on spotting good/bad breeders. Wendt Worth Corgis has a blog, also Joanna Kimball (Ruffly Speaking?).
A rescue or shelter animal is maybe more of an unknown, but I can say that many of the best dogs I see on my circuit are mutts from the pound.
we found our breeder by word-of-mouth. She and many others are listed in our local breed club, so that's a good place to start. I think some decent area breeders may NOT be in the Cascade Pembroke Welsh Corgi Club, so, your local breed club may not be exhaustive, and some of the breeders in it may not be the best.
Just do your homework, talk to a lot of people. Luck is when Preparation and Opportunity meet.
