Hello everyone! i hope y'all had a very lovely Christmas, I know I did! I just wanted to share with you guys something i have been thinking a lot about doing, but never really started until now. ever since i got my corgi, Daxter, i've read folk tales about where the corgi breed came from. there is one tale in particular that always caught my attention as a great idea for a children's book. i wrote down the preliminary story (my own version) a while back, but never really did anything with…

Our 14-year-old dog Abbey died last month. The day after she passed away my 4-year-old daughter Meredith was crying and talking about how much she missed Abbey. She asked if we could write a letter to God so that when Abbey got to heaven, God would recognize her. I told her that I thought we could so, and she dictated these words:
Dear God,…

Well, goodness, where shall I begin? There's so much going on right now! Daxter completed his first Therapy Dogs Inc. test last week and he passed with flying colors. Thank goodness the tester understood a corgi's need to bark every now and again (a couple of very hyper German Shepherds walked by and felt the need to alert Daxter of their presence, which he then replied that he was aware that they were there...haha.) Besides that little bit of barking, everything went as planned and we're on…

Daxter, my 27 lb., somewhat petite male corgi, just ate 4 chicken necks and half a cornish hen for dinner......i guess he worked up quite an appetite snoozing at my work today. At least he shared the other half of his cornish hen with his sister....sheesh!!…

I don't even know where to begin with this..........okay, so I've been waiting since last October for my application to be approved so that I can take the next step towards Daxter become a therapy dog. He comes with me to work at least 2-3 times a week and is basically known as "the front-door greeter". He's always been extremely friendly and outgoing and absolutely LOVES people, so becoming a therapy dog was an easy decision for me to make. I've gone through all the processes and filled out…

Hi! Great story you posted, loved it, so sweet. I guess I was too teary eyed to realize it wasn't actualy your dog.
"What's his name?"
"Dax."
"Jax?"
"No, Dax."
"Zax?"
"DAX. D-A-X."
I didn't realize it was such an uncommon name. Haha. Your boy is adorable by the way. I wish there were more corgi owners around Louisiana, Dax needs some playmates that are his size. :)
Yes, we remember you from Hobnob. I did not realize you are a Corgi owner. She looks just like our Brooke. I am so sorry to hear about her itching problem. Allergies. Our little Boston has the same problem. Sometimes it gets so bad she has large bumps all over her body. I give her a Benadryl which stops the itch. Other than that it comes and goes. Hard to believe it has been one year since Corgi's surgery. She is doing OK. Take care.
