We don't get a lot of snow in my part of Arizona but I do see a lot of snow pictures from friends and family elsewhere. One of the almost universal problems is with the snow in the pictures and the over all scene looking blue or perhaps dirty gray. That's caused by the camera trying to figure out the lighting of the bright snow and the "white balance" of the scene. If you're feeling brave you can Google "white balance" for a complete explanation.
Essentially one of the things the…

Not my corgi haha! But my friend asked me to help him find his corgi a new home because his current living situation isn't ideal for a corgi. Specifically, his parents aren't letting him keep him. His corgi's name is Chopba. He's 8 months old, he has some sable coloring on his back, current on shots and unneutered. He is energetic, sassy and extremely cute in person. I would keep him for myself but unfortunately I live in a small apartment complex and my own corgi is already a handful. If…

We have had Russell, our 11 week old corgi, since he was 7 weeks old. He has always been a little shy about being picked up or approached but he seems to be getting even more shy. We have to lure him with treats to get him to come near us and he backs away or runs and hides if we make a motion towards him. He likes to play, will bring us toys to throw or play tug, and seems confident when playing but can quickly become skittish. Has any had a similar experience with their…

I decided to write my Truck updates as a blog post instead of a discussion, I think its more appropriate here. Anyway, today marks week 1 with Truck. So far things have gone great. Yesterday was a day that could have been a disaster but actually turned out pretty well. As I have said before, Truck has separation anxiety. I noticed silver lines on his teeth and asked my vet about them and she said it was from chewing the bars of a cage or fence, so despite the owners insistence he is great in…

I don't know what I'd do without Boo Bear! He captured yet another rogue toilet paper roll from trying to escape....
Why don't those toilet paper rolls learn that they are never ever going to out run the Boo Bear!
Hubby cleaned up the mess of the shredded toilet paper and cardboard... then looked at Boo Bear, and he was sitting there so proud...chest out and almost a smile on his face.... What a character.

So our septic field failed and we had a new field put in this week. The upshot is 3/4 of our back yard is now dirt, but no septic problems anymore. Copper and Simon had a blast investigating the holes and mounds of dirt, navigating their way through now unfamiliar territory. Corgis are so funny!…

Here in New York, winter usually arrives around the end of October or the beginning of November. This year, much like the rest of the country, the weather was a little weird and we didn't get any snow accumulation until the middle of January! We had a few flurries in December, but the snow never stayed more than 24 hours.
Since winter has finally begun, I decided that I should give the dogs their last bath before the muddy mess known as spring. The dogs…

Hello Everyone :)
The past 4 months has been difficult, at best, after losing our sweet Kinsey, but I am happy to announce that this past weekend we welcome Bella into our home and our lives. She is 6 weeks old and is already leaving tiny paw prints on our hearts. It is amazing how such a little creature can bring joy back into a home. I hope to post pics of Bella soon.

Hallelujah....
I was seriously beginning to doubt his corgi-ness (I have never had a corgi that wouldn't eat for more than a meal or two), but order is once again restored :)
He is eating his food. Alone. Gaining some much needed weight.

Well, it's been quiet an uneventful week/end!
Every time I left the house last week, Poppy was very quiet, which was so awesome! I was so happy! Though today when I left, she cried and barked when I was getting ready for work and then I waited outside for about 5 minutes and she was fine, but then I started walking down the hall and could hear her starting to bark. I video taped her today (totally forgot last week) so I can't wait to see what she did after I left. I hope she'll catch…

Andy is a senior corgi kid who went missing on 12/31. He's been on the run for 3 weeks now and, as you can imagine, we're all deeply concerned. Please, if you're in CT join in the search. Think about how you would be if this were your beloved corgi. Help bring Andy home!
My (soon to be) 5 month old Pem, Dexter, is becoming more and more aggressive. I believe it is because of his teething, but I can't be sure. I know his teeth are really bothering him, they are falling out and growing in, and he sometimes bleeds. I feel terrible about his pain, but the way he has been acting is unacceptable. He has a Nylabone, Kong, etc. I freeze rags and give them to him, and he loves pieces of ice. I feel like I'm doing the right thing for his teeth, so could it be…

So, last night my friends on facebook convinced me to make a tumblr page for Ein.
Granted, most of them haven't seen this page... because, well... they really wouldn't get it I don't think. I mean... it's a social network site for corgis and their people. Not really for their people's friends haha! But many people I know have tumblr.
So anyway, I started it up last night, and then at some point one of the pictures was reblogged on…

my 14 week old corgi will not stop biting us. we've tried yiping, and she gets even more excited. we've tried ignoring her, and she doesnt care. we've tried thumping her on the nose and saying no, but she thinks were playing. weve tried squirting her with water, but she likes it. i know she's teething right now, and everyone says they grow out of it, but is there any way we can get her to understand that she is not allowed to bite us?

So. I have an 8 year old Welsh Corgi male dog named Charley that does not like any other dog. He growls and barks and tries to get away from me to attack the dog. I know he will do damage because there was this other dog that wasn't on a leash and came up to Charley to sniff him, but Charley tried to bite the other dogs neck! So my question is how can I get Charley to at least accept other dogs? Is it even possible? Thanks.

Baron is now 2 years old! He celebrated his birthday with a 1/2 can of Merrick French Country Stew and a braided bully stick. Personal best time of 7 minutes to eat & the advertisements say hours of fun. Not for a Corgi.
