Lincoln is 5 mos - when does teething stop?

I can't be for sure if he has lost all his baby teeth yet.

He lost a tooth (that he spit out and I knew about) as late as last week.

He seems to very mouthy this morning and has gotten a hold of almost everything that he normally wouldn't touch. Nipping seems to be his 2nd name the last couple of days.

I guess my question is - when should Lincoln be done teething? This way I can look out for and try to be prepared for his behaviors.

We had a splendid morning yesterday, we went to the beach and rolled in the sand. I won't let Jake off the leash so he can't chase the gulls but he was quite interested by them. He got tired, though. It was a long walk. Today we have a storm so there is no walking. He went out and half the back is flooded again, so he can't even play with the neighbor dog.

He completely demolished one toy in the afternoon and worked on his Kong quite diligently. I need to get him more treats at the… Continue

The Great Debate

Sometimes I wonder if Griff is really a Cardigan.

He has the tail, for one, and the slightly larger body size and longer legs. And how about those front legs that bow around his body? But his ears point to the contrary, as they're even smaller than a normal Pembroke's and slightly pointy. And the tail is easily the result of a no-dock Humane Society policy.

But his pesonality puzzles me, too. Characteristic of all Pembrokes, he's amazingly friendly to people he knows.… Continue

Jake totally slept in today with the rain and lightening. I don't think he even noticed. He is rather antsy, of course, but the weather has not be conducive to a good walk.

But, he is a very busy Corgi nonetheless. Up and down the stairs in search of the quintessential place to hide one's cheewie! I noticed he has not been really chewing on the rawhide, rather he carries them lovingly from place to place and then attempts to hide them.

I am going to try and bake some dog… Continue

Newbie Here

Hello fellow corgi-lovers!

A little bit about myself, my name is Therese, treez for short, and I absolutely am in love with the corgi breed! Born and raised in California, I’ve been spoiled with the warm southern California sun! I joined mycorgi in hopes to get some personal insight on raising corgis and just observing how the breed behaves.

In short, I am living vicariously through all of you!

I hope to get a lot of interesting facts and tidbits about… Continue

what a week!

winnie is losing teeth like crazy... which means she isn't eating her kibble as ferociously. We think she has also had a cold because she was sneezing and snorting a bunch. Needless to say my baby was a bit more subdued this weekend.

We (after reading about other's use of it) invested in a furminator and it worked great. we had been brushing winnie at least once a day with little effect. now it is 4 days later and her coat is still looking great with minimal… Continue

11 days! Can't wait!

We have only 11 days until we pick up the newest member of our little family. I just got new pictures from our breeder and thought I should share with anyone who needs a little dose of "cute" to make it through the day!

He's so adorable he makes my heart hurt a little (I'm sure every corgi owner can relate!). We've decided to name him Howie.… Continue

We did have a very good weekend and played quite a lot all over the house. I am glad to see him settling in so well. He seems to be getting the idea that he can't get anything over on R, any more then he can with me or my mother. He is behaving very well when left… Continue

Dally's (and my) First Ever Agility Trial

Well, yesterday I packed up Dally and all her gear into my truck, and we headed up to Milford, Ohio, for our first-ever agility trial. This was a CPE (Canine Performance Events: www.k9cpe.com) trial, which was a little more laid back than AKC trials, and offers different "games" classes. However, we entered only the Standard, which is much like the Standard in AKC, but we were in Level 1, which does not have the teeter-totter or the weave poles. After a long wait, I started getting nervous… Continue

thoughts.

Been reading a little about training my dog... maybe a lot. Read pretty much all of "Dog Training for Dummies" except where it got into training for shows. No where near ready for that at this point. Archie is the smartest dog ever and I really do blame myself for his current behavior. I had a hard time where I was at in my life and I did neglect him quite a bit. I think this led to his current state of aggression. He's fine with people he's met before but on walks, it's horrid. He tries to… Continue

Best Anniversary Present

Today is Paul's and my two year anniversary and Miles decided to give me the best present.

During the day before he had been eyeing his bed as if he actually wanted to use it. He'd go over and take a toy next to it or lay riiiiight down next to it but never in it.

But last night at about 1 am Paul and I were up playing Mario Party 8 and I had noticed Miles was laying on the rug with his head on Paul's shoe. I remarked to Paul that it was Probably him telling us that he needed to go… Continue

Buys week for everyone. Jake has his two week anniversary with us on Thursday. So far, he is doing just great! He has his moments...one thing we have noticed is that when he is allowed to sit on the sofa or the bed with my daughter he growls at her after a time. She immediately sends him off and says NO, I wonder if he is trying to be the alpha dog with her. He does not do it with either me or my my mother.

He has gotten a bunch of new toys and plays with them quite vigorously!… Continue

Miles' first Furmination

So we Furminated Miles for the first time last night and of course I was there to document it. =)

It was a lot of fun, maybe not for Miles though haha at some times he really seemed to enjoy it.

and some times he was not too pleased with us

"WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO ME?"

He braced himself for some serious fur removal…

furminator!

We just got our furminator in the mail today! I'm so excited, I'm going to furminate the hell out of Miles tomorrow =). He and his daddy just moved into a cute little apartment in Los Angeles on Venice and the entire thing is hardwood. It makes it so much easier to clean but Miles hates sliding around. We got a bunch of rugs and even an adorable little doggie bed for him but he refuses to use it =(. I'm not sure why but I swear one day he'll learn to love it.
