I took Scout to meet her new vet, renew her trifexis subscription, and get her kennel cough vaccine (for when I board her) this afternoon. She was a great patient. The Techs said they heard that corgis were sometimes difficult at the vets, but that Scout was perfect! Yay for her putting a good "word" out for the breed.
Also, Trevor the foster was neutered today! He's spending the night in Evansville, but tomorrow he comes back here to hopefully be housetrained easier.

This isn’t a corgi issue, but I trust peoples’ opinions on this site more than anywhere else. So here it goes:
I just started fostering a border collie mix on Friday. He is middle aged, and not neutered yet. I am almost ready to call it quits and return him to the shelter. First off, I rent and animals are allowed. So I have Scout (my corgi) and Swarley (my cat). Both are house trained. Trevor (the foster) either isn’t or seems passively territorial. He has peed in almost every…

I just got two Pekin ducks as pets. They are about half grown. I got them partly for me as pets, partly (and luckily with good results so far) for Scout to have some mental stimulation and satisfy the herding instinct. She follows them, gets them into a corner, backs up until they are away from it, then herds them into the next corner.
I'm actually surprised how quickly her herding (and not hunting) kicked in. She only nipped once, then I corrected her and she's fine with them. Of…

Well, Today is the day I move out of my small efficiency apartment. I found a house for rent 7 miles from where my new job is, and my landlord's wife saw Scout's picture and already loves her!!! So I will be going from barely enought space to walk around to a 3 bedroom house. Guess that's 1 for me and 2 for the corgi. Rent is less than I would have expected. Yeah, utilities will be more, but I will make more than enough to cover it.
We have a big yard (shared but still a great…

This update is quick because I have to get to bed so I can be awake for work in the morning. Well, Scout and I are on our way to bigger and better things. I got my full time permanant job down around the Evansville Indiana area and will be moving down there before the end of the month... I'm excited, but sad to leave my awesome friends in Attica, IN. …

A couple of days ago, I had my door open and Scout was right outside. I heard a yelp then ran to see if she was ok. --Nothing but thin air, so I assume she was stung by a bee? Well, today, I have the door open again, and a huge fly comes in the apartment. She starts shivering and cowering next to me. I injure the fly with a flyswatter, and then she gets brave enough to finish it off. Then another fly, more shivering... Wish I had a screen door now.
And in other…

I'm pretty sure this is a corgi.
I watch the TV show, Friends. And in the back of Central Perk on certain seasons, there is a painting with this dog. I searched online, and the artist never specifies what kind of dog but I (and I'm sure you will) believe it is corgi.
But anyway, just thought I would share.
Hopefully we will get out on the…

I got Scout to howl for the first time for me today!!!!
I guess she thinks she is a wolf now because:
There is this video on youtube called "Timber Howling" of a wolf-dog howling. She has never howled when I let her listen to corgis howl. She listens, and tilts her head from side to side, but is a VERY quiet corgi. But for some reason, this wolf finally got through to her.
