Camber+ Farmer's Market = Disaster

Took Camber to the dog park and a pit bull got a little too friendly and she charged and snapped at him. I was just as surprised as the dog. Camber is a proper girl, and really. Does it take that much sniffing to get to know another dog? Didn't think so. The pitty didn't go near her after that. Despite the pitt's attempt to get Biblical with Camber, she really was a sweet dog.

Camber made quite the splash at the dog park. It was a new group of dog's and everyone was oohing and aahing… Continue

People, their kids, and my dog

Let me just preface this by saying that I was a nanny for 2 years. I am a teacher. I love kids. But, I really didn't like these 3 little girls at the dog park yesterday.

First off, they were unattended. Their adult was in the vicinity, but wasn't paying attention. Well, these little girls were trying to pet every dog in the area. There were a variety of dogs there and they were all playing with each other. They seemed to want to do nothing with human babies. So, here come Cam and I.… Continue

The dog days of summer...

Here we are, with the second week of August behind us, and I'm getting ready to go back to work. Camber and I have been spending loads of quality time together and I just realized how much I was going to miss her come September. Being a teacher has its time advantages and Cam and I would hang out on the couch or in the backyard...she's going to miss me.

I've had to meet at the school these last couple of days, so I'm getting her used to the idea that I won't be around as much. But,… Continue

The Olympics and Camber

Last night, the world was treated to and amazed by the stunning opening ceremonies in Beijing. To say that I was impressed is an understatement. Especially at the end, when they lit the torch...

Camber, as usual, slept through most of it. However, I consider that OK in my book because we had it on surround sound and the volume turned up really high and I thought that the fireworks would send her running to the other room. It didn't. Which is a testament to the fact that she was… Continue

The Antics of Ms. Camber, Part Deux

For a 17-pound Corgi, Cam can really get herself into some "situations".

Last night, we went to a friend's house for dinner. Cam came with us. Our friend, Joe, came by with his Pomeranian, Jake, who proceeded to crack us up with his behavior.

Jake is your typical Pomeranian. High-strung, yappy, fluffy, small. Camber is your atypical Corgi. Quiet, solitary, intolerant of the excitable pooches. Mix those together and its a recipe for disaster. Well, not disaster. Actually,… Continue

The Antics of Ms. Camber, Part One

Camber can be strange, sometimes.

The other day, I was in the kitchen, doing kitchen-y things, talking with my BF, Moses, about whatever, and Cam comes in, walks towards me, and as she's walking past my legs, she licked me twice and kept going. It was a drive-by lick.

Weird little dog...

Can she get any cuter??

I don't need to quantify how much in love we all are with our corgi's, but Camber did something yesterday that pushed her cuteness into the stratosphere.

First off, Cam has only barked only 3 times. I've been told that we are lucky. She does the sort of "huffing" thing when we play outside, but never any full-on yapping. Well, yesterday morning, we were puttering around, doing our morning thing, and I decided to give Cam a little treat and put her on the bed. Well, I did (and here's… Continue
