One of the saddest things to read here are the incidents of serious and painful illnesses experienced by corgis and corgi owners, especially age-related issues we have come to expect as inevitable. Today I saw a news piece on the local news channel about veterinary treatment that has just become more readily available in MA. I have no idea how widespread the treatment is, but it really showed promise, no doubt at a high cost of course. I was unable to get the video to work but I hope this link works to check it out on Facebook if you or someone you know may be interested. It may be well publicized in other states but this is the first time I have heard of it being offered in a one day operation in MA. May be a way to fight back a DX of DM.

Here is the link. I hope it works!

Sorry, I forgot to add that it seems effective as a treatment for many health issues, including hip dysplasia, arthritis, cancer and more. Just in case it may be of interest.

I know a vet here who tried it on his dog for hip dysplasia and I understand it helped.

Sorry, but this bears all the diagnostic marks of snake oil.

We fear the Gwynnie may be showing some early signs of DM at 12 y.o....

so I took her on another backpacking trip, thinking I should do this while she still can.  She had no trouble keeping up with me on a 35+ mile weekend....

We will face whatever comes.

Right on.

Sorry to hear about your Gwynnie!

Interesting...not that expensive if it works the 1st time:)

I was skeptical about this also.  I saw a news story a couple years ago on it but they took fat from the dog's abdomen, sent it to a lap that supposedly extracted stem cells from it and then they injected it into the dog's hip.  This was the procedure that the vet I know tried.  Next time Murray visits his wife for a chiropractic tune up I'll ask for an update.  Out of curiosity, I just did a search on my computer and it sounds like it is promising, but they haven't conducted enough blind tests yet.  Stay tuned.
