This is Frasier, a corgi mix that I rescued from the APL. He is an awesome, albeit stubborn dog.

Funniest thing...when i first rescued my pup and would take him to the dod park, people would always ask "what kind of dog is that?" of course I would say "Cardigan Corgi, the one with the tail" and they would say "Corgis aren't red." HA-HA!

My corgi and I are new to the site, state and all. I rescued Boscoe from the SPCA in eastern Virginia when he was 8 months old...he is now five years old. About a year ago, we moved to southern California and love it!

Oh, maxine! What a beautiful little corgi family you have! So it really is the corgi side that makes these dogs so lovable?

I adopted a dog from a shelter, they said he was a pembroke welsh corgi mix. He is now 15 yrs. old, I have him for 10 yrs. I also rescued a red/white female corgi shes 3 yrs, then my mom adopted a corgi/chihuaha mix we love corgis

Hey so cal corgi rescue people. I have noticed that corgis seem to turn up at the Ventura Co. animal regulation quite often. Where i got my precious Autumn. Unfortunately this is a kill shelter and Autumn wants to be the only pup in the house. (much to my dismay). There's a sweet looking tri-color female there now. Anyways thought if anyone was looking for a dog in need you might keep an eye on the site. www.vcar.us

It's great to hear so many corgis out there go to such good homes. My husband and I adopted a corgi about 2 years ago after we bought our own home. I work at a local vet clinic and asked the nurses to keep a look out for us. And that's how we came to get Pimms. He came in to see a colleague because he couldn't walk. Not surprising, considering he was SO OBESE his tummy dragged on the floor. Also, he'd previously broken his leg (we found a pin on xray later) and had back issues and two arthritic elbows. The amazing thing was that when he was having a blood test for heartworm, he was screaming with the pain of raising his head but still was sweet and gentle with the nurses and didn't even try to bite. So, a perfect dog for a vet, who should always adopt these "reject dogs". Anyway, lots of dieting later (thankyou, Proplan weight management), daily walks, good brushing and mainly lots of love, he is now 14kg lighter, able to chase seagulls, play ball and terrorise our chickens. We still feel sad that we didn't meet him as a young agile dog but we're so happy he is now healthy.
We are total corgi converts of course.
