I am so glad we aren't the only ones getting things ready for Christmas now, I love this time of year.

I am ready for the massive amounts of peppermint bark and my mother's flan (she is from Havana, Cuba). Or the roast pig we make every year for Christmas Eve along with black beans and rice. Along with fried plantains with mojo sauce and yucca. We have a very Cuban Christmas each year

My mom used to make lefse and now my son does...1 piece a year is enough for me...I'll be making caramels and rosettes though!

We celebrate lots of Holidays at our house. Both Hanukkah and Christmas. This year we will have our daughter, son in law, and grandsons staying with us part of the time. They live in Austin, Texas so it will be interesting for the dogs having a three year old and a 8 month old around. I intend to relax and enjoy it as much as possible. The corgis love having people over so I think they will do fine. I never heard that turkey was bad for dogs. What is that about?

Edward and Gem have little head bands, one is a snowflake and one is a Santa hat. Edward is more of a flake so I think I'll put that one on him. He, He, He.I wish our community had a little parade but no such luck. However, we do have a tree lighting ceremony and Santa's arrival uptown so maybe we will show them off there a little bit.MARY'S comment about turkey has got me thinking, I did not know that it was not safe to give to our little ones and they have never had it so I am starting a HOLIDAY SAFETY CHECKLIST FOR CORGIS in the forum directly above. Please add any toxic or unsafe items, preferably Holiday related to it so we can all enjoy our Holidays without worrying about what is safe or unsafe for them. I think I saw there was a recall on cow hooves too so if you know of more present related items like that please post that too. Thanks!!!

Oh, that reminds me! Our LOve on a Leash pet therapy group is supposed to be walking in our town's Christmas parade! I have not been in a parade since I was a kid (I was in a Ballet Folklorico Dance troupe), so I am REALLY lookign forward to it! I need to get Sid a Christmas coat or something :D

This is our first Thanksgiving & Christmas with Copper. He doesn't lift his leg yet, but I do have 2 of those belly bands. You put a sanitary napkin in it when it gets wet, they don't like it and learn not lift and mark in the house. Last year Mattie was with us (Jenn's Corgi) and we didn't have any problems. We keep the decorations higher on the branches and it is artificial. The greatest issue is the dogs pouting because we moved things around and their pillows are NOT where they are supposed to be. Don't feed your dogs turkey it can kill them! Mine may get a bit of mashed potatoes though. We will probably get the tree up around the 12 of December as my hubby will be deer hunting the weekend prior.
