I'm just looking for some new play ideas to use with my puppy. Winnie tends to get bored with the traditional dog games and toys (even her Kong). Thanks for any ideas!

While a puppy I used to put a couple treats in a large vitamin bottle so Sparty could figure how to get it out. Also he loved shredding cereal boxes. As he got older we switched to kongs with cheese and also taught him fetch(his favorite game). Long walks while kicking a milk jug was also a favorite of his. He loved pushing the milk jug all around and running after it when we kicked it. If you have a really active puppy you just use your imagination to make things fun. Izzy has always been very mild mannered and did not crave the stimulation. Also teaching tricks like shake and roll over works great.

Jack always requires a lot of entertaining, and needed even more until he turned about 2!

When he was small, we tried to put him in the car and take him someplace once a week or so. We visited quite a lot of parks.

He loved playing with those cheap plastic drink cups, like you get at sporting events or with large-sized drinks at some fast food places. He also liked the single-serving size drink bottles.

Playing "soccer" is one of his favorites: get a medium-sized ball and try to kick it past him up the hallway and he goes crazy!

I also taught him the names of all his toys, which was fun and a neat trick to show guests. And of course, lots of training. Short and fun up until about 1 year to 18 months, depending on your pup's maturity level.

Here's one of his favorite toys. It's one ball inside another. He can push it with his nose and its his favorite indoor "soccer" ball:

Try playing hide and seek.
It's great if your puppy knows the stay command.
If not, have someone else hold your pup or just casually walk away and call his name.
Good practice for recall.
Small rubber squeaky bouncy balls! This is something that my Livvy absolutely loves if I squeak it she comes running but she also will pick it up and squeak it or bounce it herself! I have a few and the are great and last!
Used to play a type of hide-and-seek with Buddha when he was young; now loves to seek out his collar, toys, bones, my hat, slippers, etc. it's funny. I also liked to just got to Petco, Petsmart or other dog friendly places to get him socialized, he even came to work with me on numerous occasions.
Thank you! Those are great ideas! When the weather was better I would take her for a long walk at the lake everyday. She just gives up on fetch after about three or four throws and would rather play tug-a-war, but I usually end up getting hurt when we play that. She is really active and smart so she keeps me on my toes all the time.
ever see a 12 week old puppy try to pick up a frisbee off concrete, that is pretty entertaining for me, as for the puppy? My guy loves ice, so i get a tall glass, and put some ice in it, then I put a smaller cup inside of it to block off the ice, he then tries to find a way to remove the small cup and then find a way to get to the ice. As for walking him, he absolutely can not go anywhere unless he can find a pine cone to carry with him. I do not know why, but every walk I have taken him on, he just picks up and carries like it is the greatest thing in the world.
much better a pine cone than some other things I can think of that a corgi would like to pick up and carry!
