i have heard alot of people adding green beans to there dogs food so they feel fuller and dont have to feed them that much food. both dogs are on wellnessso it can get expensive and even after teddy eats a cup in the morn(he is a very fit corgi, u can see every muscle) he acts like he still hungry and i know thats to be expected with the corgi breed but i figure a cup of food and alittle bit of green beans might help. so my question is, is it ok to keep giving them green beans in there food everyday from now on or is it just a temporary thing?

when i gave it to him before he liked it but had green poop(solid) but it alarmed my hubby lol

Absolutely!!! Green beans are great for trying to make a hungry corgi feel more full. I give my boy green beans with every meal. You can also switch it up, maybe add carrots, pumpkin or squash instead of green beans. Any veggie that's high in fiber, will do nicely.
of course!
my Katie eats all veggies! she looves red and green peppers, broccoli, green beans, and she begs for those little carrots! they are great treaat size for corgis. Plus they get for vitimins in their body with fresh veggies. Adds great variety to their diet. Katie gets them mostly for treats in stead of the high calorie treats. She doesnt know the difference.
they r the funniest dogs on the planet lol:)
thats cute that she likes carrots:) i bet he will love them instead of the treats i buy and i know that they will be fresh and he can have alittle bit more since they r healthy:)
o wow, i had no idea that u could feed them all different kinds of veggies. i bet he will love having more food in his bowl lol and he loves pumpkin i will have to try squash. thank u:)
Been feeding green beans at dinner with their kibble for over a year now and they are doing great. Of course they always act like they are starving but it does give them a little more in their dish.
yea thats why i thought maybe this would help. he could feel full and not want so many treats lol
Broccoli is great for once in awhile...mine love it as well as green beans but I don't feed veggies regulaly just for treats.
i feel so goofy for not knowing tha i could feed him veggies lol. a lot of people have told me about it but i just wasnt sure so i thought i would ask the people who know corgis best!:)
Green Beans are a regular part of Soffie and Griffyn's diet. We feed them Wellness healthy weight 1/4cup in the am and 1/4cup in the pm and then they each get 3 handsfull of frozen, right from the bag, cut green beans. We give each handfull one at a time. It's like a game with them, They love em!! Griffyn gobbles his right up and then has to wait for Soffie to finish hers before we give the next handfull. It's a great way to have them feel full without adding calories!!

After an acl partial tear Soffie needed to lose 10lbs. Over a course of approximately 8 months she successfully reached her goal weight by staying on that strict diet. We've been feeding this way for 1 year. We never noticed that it turned their poo green. But every once in awhile a bean seed will be clearly visible!! : ) We buy the grocery store brand, it's the most economical. We will also stuff their Kongs with a wellness treat and the frozen green beans.
lol i will tell my hubby to look out for those seeds :P that sounds like a fun to do with him. i bet he will love all the extra food in his bowl(without all the calories) im glad that soffie reaches her goal! i agree that buying the store brand is cheaper,i usualy buy those brands lol i bet he will love finding wellness treats along with some carrots and greenbeans in his kong, that is his Favorite toy along with the kong wubba
I'm not as faithful to the green beans as others, but I regularly add whatever's on hand to Casey's food dish and she seems happy with it. Typically, once every week or two I'll empty my fridge of fruits and/or vegetables that are going bad or that I'm not going to eat (because I had leftovers, or bought too much for a recipe, etc.) and I'll cook and puree them all, then freeze them in an ice cube tray. I'll take one "food-cube" out of the freezer the night before and toss it in her food dish (which sits on the counter, not on the ground or she'd eat it immediately, lol). It defrosts over-night and is ready in her bowl in the morning when I add her kibble.

This week it’s yams and some mediocre, over-ripe peaches I bought from Costco that I couldn’t stand eating, but could bare to throw-out. Next week it'll probably be a pepper that's been sitting in my fridge since last week and that's starting to look a little wilted, with whatever else I'm left with. That's the beauty of dogs!
