Orion will be six months old on September 16th and he's lost all his baby teeth except his upper two canines. His bottom two canines took a long time to come out and were the last teeth to go (his premolars and molars were already growing in a lot by the time they fell out) but his upper canines aren't even loose. His adult canines are coming in and the baby ones show no signs of wanting to come out. I saw a couple baby tooth extractions at the clinic I worked at over the summer and I know if left in there they can cause problems later in life but I'm wondering at what point I should consider having them pulled. I've only seen a few pups with retained baby teeth so I don't have much experience on the subject but I don't want to put him under anesthesia if I don't have to. Does anyone have experience with retained baby canines? If so, did you have to have them pulled or did they finally fall out? I hope they'll fall out, I really don't want to have to get them pulled :/
Here's a picture of them, the adult canines are just starting to come in so maybe the others still have time to fall out (the ones I've seen had the adult teeth all the way grown out already) sorry for the cruddy quality but I didn't want to go through the trouble of taking it on my camera and hooking it up to the laptop so I just took it on my phone and emailed it
