What should I carry in my first aid kit for a corgi in pain in a remote location?  21-27 lbs.
Hypothetically, joint/leg/foot pain, known injury, or unknown causes?

Rimadyl and I hope you never need it!
Yes, Rimadyl, but I'd hesitate to give anything to a dog who was bleeding.
Benadryl in case of bee sting and a small magnifying glass to look for a stinger.
Vet wrap, benadryl, a sling could be made from a flour sack towel that would fold up small and I guess Rimadyl but have no personal experience with this med. Honestly if it was Wynn I might want a muzzle also (he is not a good patient).
-You might get some of that stuff that stops bleeding if you cut the quick. It might help if something happened to one of their nails.
-I know nothing of Rimadyl.

-A muzzle- a lot of times it helps to keep the dog calm in crazy situations
-The sling sounds good. You could also use an empty backpack if you don't already have one on. Zip up the backpack with their head sticking out. Or a duffel bag would be even better, so they would be laying pretty flat in it. Same idea, with their head sticking out one end. You could use a safety pin to keep the zipper from moving if you had to.
-Benadryl is good too, many bugs/plants can cause reactions.
-The magnifying glass sounds like a good idea too.
-Maybe a set of those dog boots.

I was looking at a few sites and a couple said:
-Fresh water if you are not going to be near any or already have some.
-Vet Rap (which is that stuff that they wrap around your arm when you get your blood drawn but wider) which is a good idea.
-The rest of what I saw was basically the same thing you would carry in a first aid kit for yourself.

Mel K also said this "I have two kits in my trunk. One for horses and the other for dogs. They are just Sterilite containers but in the dog one I have three leashes, two harnesses, six collars, four muzzles, vet wrap, baby aspirin, a bag of treats, some soft rope, gauze, bandaids, some feminine pads, and various other supplies. You never know when you'll need something." in a discussion about cutting nails...

I just now realized that your post was specifically asking about things FOR pain. My bad.
It's a good book, covers both OTC and Rx. Starting from page 15. OTC info. I also like Sam splint and inflatable splint
