I am absolutely beside myself right now. Yesterday, I was at work and my bf left for work later in the day so before he left, he put Rocky into his crate and put a Kong Goodie Bone in there with him (I know, not smart). When I came home to let Rocky out, I noticed that a part of the Kong was missing. I checked the crate but I couldn't find anything. The piece that's missing is probably about the size of 3 or 4 cinnamon hearts stuck together. I called the vet immediately and she said that unless he's vomiting or has a bloated stomach there's nothing they can do right now. The vet told me to give Rocky some Metamucil and keep a very close eye on him and his poop. He's pooped 4 times since then and I haven't found anything. Does anyone have any experience in waiting for their corgi to poop something back out? I'm so worried that it'll get stuck in his digestive track and he'll need to have surgery or something to get it back out :(

Ginger ate one of those soft, squisky earplugs a few weeks ago.  She finally poohed it out about 3 days later.
Maddie has eaten hunks of rubber and vomited them back up, sometimes many days later.   Generally if he's pooping ok, his stomach is soft and he does not seem to be in any pain or anything, I would not worry too much.  It IS alarming.  Things can get stuck, but remember a meat-eater's digestive system is designed to handle swallowing (and later passing) fairly large chunks of sometimes undigestible stuff.  It's pretty flexible.  Usually problems come from hard sharp objects or thinks like washcloths or dishtowels that can tangle.
Unless he is showing some sign of distress it will probably pass with out problems. I have not been through this with the corgis but our doberman has had three obstruction surgeries before we got her. We have had a couple close calls but usually fabric or rope is much more likely not to pass through.

Our first Corgi Tucker was a power chewer, he ate a piece of a Kong rubber bone (didn't know at the time how large) he had chewed many tiny pieces off.  It turned out to be large enough that he didn't pass it and it didn't make him sick.  Finally, after some time (couple weeks)  he vomited and there was the piece of Kong bone!   His system tried to digest it with no luck.

Something else that I have had a really bad experience with is plastic...I was told by my vet that the acid in a pups system can change the consistency of plastic.   I never did find out what my pup had eaten, but it tore her intestine and she died.  I had taken her to the vet he did surgery couldn't save her.   Sad :(   Believe me I monitor what my dogs chew on and watch them closely when they have any kind of bone.   They don't get stuffed toys, no squeaker toys, no eyes, nothing with pieces that they might chew off and swallow !!!   That doesn't leave much :)))

I have heard of humans passing swallowed oral thermometers.  I've also heard of a foam earplug stuck in a cat and miraculously spotted on an X-ray (don't know if it caused an obstruction, but it got into a veterinary radiology textbook).

One thing you do NOT want your animal to swallow is a tampon; I've heard of that, requiring surgery.

Siri would routinely swallow raw chicken wings and drumsticks, and they would disappear.

Yeah.  It's ranged from disposable diaper parts (YUCK!), to underwear pieces (YUCK!), to a hold nylon leash.  And periodic toy pieces...fluff, fabric, eyes, noses, etc....The great majority of the time it comes back out, mouth or bottom.  Just be worried if they vomit or won't eat.  Stomachs of steel, I tell you!

Oh, and my friends bloodhound literally just swallowed his cell phone last night.  After a trip to the ER and some hydrogen peroxide, both dog and phone are fine....

:-)

I wouldn't worry right now, but keep an eye on him when he goes to the bathroom.  My Bingley has pooped out some interesting things like a button, for example. Came flying right out... it was pretty funny.  I think Rocky is fine if he's pooping okay (normal color and texture) and if he's acting his normal self.
