Just saw this ad on Craigstlist for someone in long island looking to rehome there 8 month old corgi, if anyone is interested or looking for another bunny butt!

If anyone is interested, we are taking Kaycee to South Beach tomorrow late afternoon around 4:30PM. South Beach is situated immediately to the south of the Staten Island side of the Verrazano Narrows Bridge. (From October 1 through April 30 each year, leashed dogs are allowed on the sand and the boardwalk at certain beaches. These beaches are Rockaway Beach, Coney Island, Brighton Beach, Manhattan Beach, Midland Beach and South Beach.) We plan to take advantage of tomorrow's nice weather and give Kaycee a chance to walk/run around the sand. Hope to see you there. :D

If anyone's going to Prospect Park for off leash hours tomorrow morning, we're planning on being there bright and early! (luckily we have a zipcar this Saturday) Most probably hanging around the area near the dog beach.

We take Dash on the NYC subway practically every day... he fits comfortably in a large Sherpa carrier. Here's an excerpt from UrbanHound.com about riding other area trains with dogs...

Does anyone know if dogs are allowed to travel on the train? We would be coming from Long Island if the meet up is in NYC. Will I have to cram little Thiago in a carrier? Then what would we do with it after that? What if I have my 2 1/2 yr old son wear dark sunglasses, and we put one of those things on Thiago's back- Seeing Eye Corgi!?!

I'm new to this site. Anyone from upstate NY?

Thanks for all the love guys. Yes, we will have to join "Chicago corgis" if its even out there! I am going to Northwestern in the fall for law school.

Ana - I found it helped to reach out to new york corgis on dogster and craigslist, as well as mycorgi. I also made little 4x6 paper invitations and handed them out to corgi owners I saw on the street. Finally, I made a sign and asked pet shops by my work and by my house to put it up.

I will at least visit this site to see pictures!

SJ - we will miss seeing you and Corgi in Prospect Park! I would be more than willing to organize the next meetup if no one else is able.
