We are two weeks from Winston's last dose of Rimadyl & Doxycycline, 3 days from his last Tramadol--which I've weaned him off of slowly. I added a doTerra OnGuard softgels twice a day after he felt spunky enough to take on another Corgi (Snoopy) & had acquired an abscess on his cheek. It acts as an antibiotic.
So...the update? It occurs to me I'm dosing him with 8…
ContinueYesterday AM I let some of my dogs out into their big fence as usual. Immediately I heard several Coyotes yipping. I also had one of my cats run out and through the fence. What seemed like only seconds I heard a Coyote kill a cat near what sounded like at the edge of my grove and my 1st thought was "oh,no...the coyote got Smidge" my heart just sank! Dogs were going crazy and I quickly got them back in the house but had to leave for work. Luckily(not for the cat) it must have been a stray…

Tonight was Teghan's first puppy class! I haven't had a dog in class since I was a child in 4-H. My seventeen year old Heeler never went to class, which in hindsight was a terrible idea since the socialization would have been good for her. I knew how to train a dog though and old Suade was an easy learner, so I didn't take her. So I decided to take Teghan and it was fun to freshen up on some techniques to train her. I also knew it would be a good idea since she is so smart and stubborn…

Hi,
I am new to this website and I would like to say hello to everyone! I am Krystal and my corgi is Mac, a Pembroke Welsh who is a 7 year old tri-color. I originally joined this site to discuss my options for his recently torn ACL... but unfortunately, late Tuesday night I got the bad news that Mac indeed has Lymphoma. I discovered his swollen lymph nodes late Saturday night and took him in a.s.a.p. I have an appt. with an oncologist on Tuesday to get the prognosis. Hopefully…

So, my little miss Bandit has been home for two days now. When is the other shoe going to drop? When is she going to become a troublesome puppy? I honestly just can't get over how perfect of a puppy she is!
She has been completely accident free.
She doesn't really bark in the house (unless she sees the cat running away from her).
She only whines for a few minutes before settling down in her crate during the day.
At night, she falls asleep within minutes of…

My Dylan at 20 weeks has no sign of testicles, does anyone know at this point if they will drop down or am I looking at a surgery? Also, is it customary to ask the breeder for a partial refund since he will not be eligible for conformation? He was sold to me as "show quality" at a hefty price. I know that this issue could not have been predicted but now I am looking at an expensive surgery so soon.

In early October, an ad agency contacted me to purchase a photo of Tucker. Look out for him in People, Self, and Shape magazines!

I live in an apartment complex with a ton of dogs, and there are no real "dog-free" areas where I can take my 10-week old puppy to do his business and play outside. How dangerous is it for him to walk around in the grass outside and do his business? I got him 2 weeks ago and everything has been going great, but I'm a bit paranoid about him catching parvo or other diseases. I just don't know of any totally dog-free areas to take him.

It's been two weeks since Casey came home with us and it's amazing how one little puppy has changed our lives! It's been great to see his personality develop too. He is a very sweet boy that loves meeting people and other dogs (although most dogs we've met haven't been too thrilled to meet him, except for the other puppies in his puppy class).
When we went to pick him up at the breeder's house, there were only two puppies left. Casey's brother was very confident and very…

I took Johnny to the vet for the first time since I brought him home. He barked at every dog he saw. He also pooped in the examination room lol. Funny little puppy. Glad to find out he is in good health though.
Oh yea, I gave him a full run of the living today and guess what?! He peed right in the corner of the living room. I literally looked away for like 2…

There are multiple reasons that leash laws are in place. To protect your dog and to protect you and people around you. Today I was walking my dogs and I turned to see what Winnie was looking at. A little chihuahua was crossing a busy road excited to meet Winnie and Boba. The dog got hit by a car. I am very sad right now, I hope he is ok. He is at the vet right now.
