Well, I'm glad to know he's not the only one. He is unique in many ways, though...sheeesh. Silly dog. He's easy to pill, but I get tired of jamming my finger down his mouth, so was hoping p'butter would work. Anyways, I'm using the cheese now and he loves that.
He is quite a gourmand when it comes to deer poop, though.
My dogs like soft butter for pills...I just scoop some on a knife, press the pills in it and feed off the knife (table knife of course)..of course my English Setter hears a butter wrapper opening from a mile away they love it so:)
Charlie didn't like peanut butter until recently (he's 4 months now - up until now he never quite enjoyed it. I'd fill his kong with it and he'd ignore it - now he's ALL over that thing!)
Your corgi doesn't have to have peanut butter, but maybe he's like Charlie, whose tastes continue to change as he grows (he used to LOOOOVE cherries, like addicted to them, went crazy when i'd take them out of the fridge. Now he doesn't like them much, spits them out sometimes).
I've known only one dog that didn't like peanut butter, and she was a very picky eater. So Nimh isn't alone, just part of a seemingly small minority of dogs. ;)
My mother took to using small pieces of Velveeta cheese when we had to give our cat thyroid medication. She used it on occasion with her dog, too, but usually the dog thought pills were treats and swallowed them whole without any added incentive.
Huh! Strange!! That is Zombie's FAVORITE treat. I put peanut butter in her Kong toy a lot, and she loves it.
Maybe try a cheese fill?
