A pitiful corgi
Sparty , our resident elder, has an infected toe and has to wear the party cone. He is a somewhat grumpy almost 13 year old and is not very pleased with the situation. I got him a soft cone with hopes he would be a little more comfortable but he sat in bed and barked in protest last night. Eventually he settled down and slept like a log but is feeling pretty sorry for himself this morning. On top of everything he also has a small cyst on his eye lid that may have to be removed. Ugh, getting older can be tough. The only upside is he gets treats 3 times a day with his antibiotics.

Poor Sparty. :( Nobody likes wearing the Cone of Shame, and it's doubly embarrassing when you're a dapper 'ol gent like that. Hopefully his infection clears up and he can get rid of that thing. Yuki understands the extra treats, though. Ever since he was diagnosed with hypothyroidism he's been getting treats twice a day with his pills. Considering he used to get treats maybe three times a week, he's been more than happy to take those little pink pills.

Sparty does look upset. I'm sorry for laughing, but he really does look unhappy with the cone. I hope your infection clears up quickly, Sparty so you can take that cone off. Try and look at the positive side of things...you get more treats!

Yes, he is pretty unhappy about the cone. However, it is a bad infection so I am being very hard hearted about it. My vet said his toe might have to be amputated and I think Sparty would be even less happy about that!
