Reading over some of the older posts, I see a lot of people talking about giving their corgis apples, bananas, peas, etc. I am curious as to what fruit/veggies your corgis really like? And how much and how frequently? Applesauce will be 1 year next month and I would really like to incorporate some real food into her diet, she eats Blue Buffalo 1/2 cup twice daily. Oh! And someone mentioned meat loaf? Anyone have any recipes they would like to share?
Thanks for any suggestions!

Waffle doesn't eat fruits or vegetables usually. He used to but then I switched him to raw food. Sometimes he'll eat carrots if there is dip on them. I can trick him into eating broccolli and green beans if there's enough butter or other flavoring, lol. He used to really like bananas and blueberries!
Ha, that is funny. One of ours was a vegetable and fruit LOVER! Bananas were his favorite. He has been raw for just udner 2 years now and as time goes on he turns his nose up with a great bitterness. When I hand out the bananas he takes it, VERY reluctently and ONLY because his brother is gobbling his up. He brings it to his bed and guards it. Usually about after half an hour he has forced a little piece down but forgets about it and walks away. Same with carrots, apples, etc.
He will however take brocoli :)
bananas, blueberries, avocado, peas, sweet potatoes, carrots, pumpkin... are some of his favorites :)
Ellie will eat just about anything that I give her, though some things are devoured faster than others. Her favorites are berries, since they are bite sized, and currently she gets two raspberries per day. Why just two? Well, I use the raspberries to hide Yuki's thyroid pill and he gets that pill twice per day. When Yuki gets a raspberry then Ellie gets one, too!
Bananas are another favorite amongst my two. If one of us eats a banana, then we break off a piece from each end so that each dog can have a bite. We also give them bits of melon (though Ellie prefers cantaloupe to honeydew), blueberries, apple, beans, broccoli, cauliflower, sweet potato, celery (so funny to watch them eat this!), peas and carrots. For the most part they only get these "treats" when I am using them for a recipe or as part of a snack, but there's nothing wrong with feeding fruits and veggies on a regular basis.
A word of caution: there are foods that are toxic to dogs that you should be aware of. The two that come to mind first, for me, are grapes/raisins and onions. Generally speaking, most bulb plants (any type of onion or flower bulb) are toxic to some degree or another. If you're unsure as to whether a particular food is safe, then do a bit of research online before feeding it to Applesauce. :)
Lemmy loves carrots, and cantaloupe. He'll also eat bell peppers, and peas.
Mine will eat anything..not sure if they taste it. However, I add frozen green beans to their dinner every night just to add some low calorie bulk. They get about a third of a cup of kibble twice a day plus the green beans. Plus the occasional carrot or whatever my husband slips them!
Kali loves banannas and green beans. We have bananna time in the morning and she gets so excited.
My boys get green beans (frozen) with their kibble. I accidentally said that we were having green beans with dinner and Redford thought he was getting fed.
Betsy and Fred get daily banana treats and love pumpkin on their food. We also give them shredded cabbage, strawberries, canteloupe (Fred's all-time favorite), Brussels sprouts, broccoli, carrots, apples, frozen green beans and other assorted fruits and veggies. In fact, I can't think of any fruit or vegetable we've given them that they haven't loved.
Last year and this, we planted a little vegetable garden out back, about 5x6 feet. The first year, I couldn't figure out why we weren't getting any harvestable crop and I attributed that to the fact that animals must be raiding the garden when we weren't looking. One day, Betsy hadn't come in from her morning business and I went out to find her. She was chest deep in the (rather overgrown) garden, munching away. I started cataloging everything she was eating: tomatoes (her favorite); radishes (!); okra; bell peppers (her second-favorite); strawberries; and even a watermelon. The watermelon was about 7 inches across when I found just the remnants of its rind cap still attached to the vine, with obvious dog-bite marks all around the edges. How did she know the inside would be even edible? She devoured 90% of it, rind and all!
This year, we planted the garden again, and added cabbages. Fred usually paid no mind to the garden, but must have recognized the smell of the leaves from the shredded cabbage we sometimes sprinkle on his food, and I found him out there one morning systematically licking the floppy outer leaves of the young plants and then eating them down to the stalk. Betsy came along later and finished up, cleaning the stalks down to the roots. I've seen Betsy leaping up as high as she can to get bell peppers and tomatoes that are a bit out of her reach, and she will spend a good 30-45 minutes out there some days, leisurely wading through the plants in search of anything edible. (She is INCREDIBLY food obsessed, even for a corgi. I think she is so happy to be able to forage for her own food, LOL, since she believes we are starving her day in and day out. She's 3-4 lbs overweight, even on less than 1 cup of weight management Wellness kibble and zero treats save her daily bit of banana, cabbage, etc., but it's hard to begrudge her when she's eating nutritious food that she goes to the trouble to harvest herself.) I've attached a picture of her munching on something or other from the garden. We've talked about getting a little sign made that says "The Corgi Garden" and have started planning what to plant next year that they will especially enjoy. Are we corgi-obsessed, or what, LOL?
My two furbabies love apples, pumpkin, carrots, bananas, green beans and lots more. Everyday along with their dry food I give them a fresh vegetable or fruit. I think it is an important part of their diet, just like for us. And they really love it, they always eat their treat first.
Griffin's favorite is raw broccoli. He also likes peas, green beans and mangos. I dehydrate sweet potato slices in the oven and give him one or two for a snack.
