I have 6 corgis and 3 colors. Each color has a distinct personality. Is it just a coincidence that each color fits in a certain category? I have often read about the tri's being bolder and more intense, what about yours?

Sables: Sage, Teddy (rescued) both are my heart dogs...willing to please and definitely I am "their world". Very laid back.

Red/white: Wynn, Bella, Wiley(rescue) : they are what I would call "normal" corgi personality: Both willing to please but a bit more stubborn and can live with me or without me.

Black headed tri: Over the edge ,dominant, doesn't do anything halfway, "the boss" most loving but more on "her terms"

Red headed tri?

What are your corgis colors and their personalities?

Becca is a red headed tri. She is stubborn and smart. She wants to know what is in it for her and is still very food reliant when training. She is a poo addict.

Becca is loving, but like your tri it needs to be on her terms. She tolerates a hug, but enjoys flopping on my lap.

Linus is a red/white pem, one of his parents was a tri and the other was red/white. Pretty much it's his world and we're just living in it. The breeder described him as "ornery". I'd say that's pretty accurate. He's quite stubborn and wants what he wants when he wants it. He's become very affectionate lately. He's very high energy and loves to run and frap around the yard. He's also quite derpy and loyal, he always wants to be in the room with me or my husband.

I have heard that tri females tend to be very stubborn and dominant and the only tri female I know (Franklin's sister) fits that bill exactly. Franklin is a dream, he is the sweetest, cuddliest (most of the time lol), and most willing to please dog I have ever known. He is also the smartest and will pick up on just my body language or how I say something and know EXACTLY what I am asking of him. I do not know any other BHT males personally so don't know how they act. Franklin is pretty high energy and needs a lot of exercise and needs me to entertain him and can be quite intense when playing. He doesn't have a mean bone in his body though and rarely, if ever, misbehaves. Breeder said he was the first in his litter to do anything and was middle of the road in the pack but always the most outgoing of the group. The red/whites I know do act like the typical corgi of bossy but friendly, stubborn and sometimes very sweet.

Sable female: dominant, stubborn, independent. Lol! She may or may not end up being red/white but she was born and still looks sable. Her tri brothers are both very laid back.

My BHT males was very active, smart and fits the pattern of not doing anything half way. Sparty was "all in" with anything he did, so intense. My two red/white's have both been stubborn but very sweet tempered and laid back.

Ein is a red-headed tri, and is very sweet and very mellow. Affectionate and cuddly and just goes with the flow. She's awkward and submissive around other dogs. She's somewhat clingy and a total mama's girl.

Seanna is definitely like your red/white.

I don't know if Jackson is a sable?  He's got quite a bit of black on his posterior ears.  If he is, then yes, he is definitely like your sables.

Don't know about a tri--haven't gotten one yet!!

Yet????????????????????????????????  Haha!

Lilly is a Black headed Tri Diva.  In every sense of the word.  She is very dominate, and if she is with me on the couch, no one else had better even glance my way!  She has been in several skirmishes with other females.  Of course I have to get into the middle to stop her, and well, I am the one that ends up wounded.  But, she is the most affectionate, loving baby. Ein is a sable and white and he is a bit more stand offish.  Lillys sisters and mom are the same as she is, her brothers and dad are really laid back.  Her one brother is a red headed tri and he is a little on the needy side.

Maddie is a RHT and is the sweetest thing, would never argue, is quite submissive (though still has her bossy moments).  She is, perhaps, not the brightest bulb in the chandelier, so to speak.  She is a bit air-headed and distractible.

Jack is what I would call red and white with a lot of sabling.  He has a lot of black-tipped hairs on his back, but lacks the widow's peak or black on ears.  Read a description of Corgi personality on line and he's that to a T.  He gives 100% in everything he does.  He loves dogs but tends to be dog-dominant, but not on his toes or nasty;  he's laid back and accepts a lot from other dogs, but will always be the one to get the food or toy, or to bring the group in line if they are misbehaving.  He's the smartest dog I've ever met.  He's bossy with people.  He enjoys pleasing, but if he has his mind set to do something else he's not shy about arguing or expressing his opinion.

Keri's is a bright red and white.Toy driven, the alpha in Our house-and any house she visits. She has a knack as We travel,to decide as another dog comes up to Us if it is stable or nuts.If she won't acknowledge as We walk by,We keep moving.Merlin is RHT,the total laid back derpy corgi.Hasn't found an enemy yet,and everybody has to pet his tummy. They're the perfect combo for Us!

I had to laugh about the "pet his tummy", several of mine roll over wherever we may be so that they get their tummies rubbed... I honestly don't remember many other breeds doing this...
