Sorry for the gross subject, but I have to ask.

Ein licks other dog's pee. Anyone know why he is doing this and how I can prevent it? I physically block him from doing so, but it is embarrassing when he tries to go back to it. I don't want him to get sick or catch something...will he? Is my corgi the only one that does this?

It could be a female dog in heat, it's very normal :)
I think they get a better smell that way. I have seen Sparty do that too. Remember they don't find this stuff gross! If they saw a dead fish their first reaction would be to roll in it!
Oh yes...I think this is normal....yesterday at the vets office Wynn had his nose stuck to a puppy butt smelling it...that's how they get information...just isn't what us humans do! Thank-goodness! I agree with the rolling in the gross stuff too....occasionally one of mine will come back and I'll be petting them and then I notice they have something brown on them...GROSS! Does the word(s) "leave it" work?...I would encourage this!
This is normal and a dogs normal instinct for collecting information. Can they catch stuff..absolutely but this is why you vaccinate and have monthly preventive heartworm that some protect against intestinal parasites. Your dog simply just walking in the grass can track in things into the home and later be licked up. Simple butt smelling can infect your dog of parasites. You can limit the exposure but is impossible to totally control. Don't be embarrassed, thats what dogs do.
My dogs don't lick urine. However, they will both stick their heads so far under another dog's behind if that dog is eliminating that they surely have gotten sprinkled on a few times. If they are leashed, I generally try to keep them at a respectful distance, both for the comfort level of the humans involved and because I don't really want to pet my dogs once they've been peed on. However, the dogs involved all seem to think it's entirely normal.
By the way, Leptospirosis can be transmitted by urine. There are many strains. There are vaccines for about 4 strains, given in a combo shot. It is a somewhat controversial vaccination, as it is one that is more common to cause a reaction in some dogs and the vaccine does not protect against all strains. And of course many people are concerned with over-vaccination. You may want to discuss with your vet if not already vaccinating for it; incidences have been on the rise in the East. I don't know about the rest of the country.
Well my Gunner likes to think his "sister" Gracie has a drinking fountain there. He barely lets her finish before he starts licking. Then his mouth starts to quiver and he begins drooling. Such a wonderful sight! However I have never seen him try and lick any other pee, except hers!
Rocky used to do this until we neutered him at a year and a half. He hasn't done it since. Could be an intact male thing.
My father's intact male Lab does this all the time. I don't know how you can prevent it, I think it is just a guy thing
Here is a pretty definitive explanation of the behavior & its purposes (scroll down to "vomeronasal organ") - the whole article is really pretty interesting, I think.
