So, earlier today Kota was attacked by Turd. Turd is a min-pin. I don't think it was bad. I broke up the fight. Kota has no cuts or anything that I can see. It only lasted a like 5 seconds. Now Kota is acting skiddish and only wants to be around me. He slept with me tonight. He usually sleeps under my mom's bed. He gets hot easily, so... I turned the fan on in my room for him. Now his nose is really HOT. He doesn't want to go outside and wouldn't drink any water. I got him to eat almost 1 ice cube. I don't know if his nose is HOT coz he is on my bed and he's hot... or if he is sick. I don't like it. He isn't acting himself and I'm scared/sad...

Watch him closely...take his temp if you think he's got a fever...make sure he's eating or at least drinking...it could be he's very upset and scared with the what happened BUT I'd call the vet if not taking in anything. A fight shouldn't cause him to run a fever but it could have been traumatic for him! Hope he's feeling better soon!

One last thought...could he been bit in the mouth??? He could have a sore mouth...
I would check him over again for a bite. There is so much hair that sometimes you can miss it. The nose being warm doesn't really mean much but if he is not eating or drinking I would take him in to the vet like Jane says. Ruling out an injury I have to tell a story about Sparty. Several years ago we had Buffy ,a corgi, and Sparty was a little older but he loved her. Buffy at about age two decided she was the boss of the bedroom and attacked him one night in an attempt to take his bed. He was very traumatized and bled profusely from a bite on his foot. That was about 6 or 7 years ago and Buffy past away three years ago. To this day Sparty runs into our bedroom at night and jumps in his bed growling. After we all get in the bedroom he is fine but he is still traumatized. Izzy wasn't even here when it happened and she waits until he is in bed and we go in before she goes in. At the time we altered Buffy's behavior and she lived several years after the attack without incident but he still fears bedtime! You can not underestimate the trauma from having your buddy hurt you I guess. Be careful about nurturing the fear but try to monitor their interaction for a while. I hope he is better soon!
Hope Kota is feeling better soon.
Ah, Kota! We hope you are feeling better soon!! Please accept some get better kisses for that hot nose...
Poor guy is really stressed out! Give him extra loves :3 If he keeps refusing food and water, take him to the vet, though. And yeah, check him over again for wounds. I hope he feels better soon.
Puncture wounds are nearly impossible to see, and very common in dog or cat bites. My beagle survived a coyote attack seemingly wound-free, but wound up with an infection from puncture wounds. Several days after the fight we could locate the wounds only by his reaction to touch. Puncture wounds also become infected easily because they come from an animals mouth, and the germs/bacteria are pushed in further under the surface. So if you think Kota is sick, see your vet. Best of luck!

I agree with taking him to the vet. Min-pins have much sharper teeth, almost needle-like, and this soon after the incident it could be nearly impossible to find the location. I hope the both of you are better soon!
Pooka gets a real hot nose/mouth when she cuddles up in bed with us. It even turns reddish. It's where they release their heat from, soooo, yeah. His body is probably just hot from being in bed.
Hi everyone. Kota is doing a bit better today, He was playing with the other dogs. He still has a warm nose. He is eating and drinking normally. I will definitely be checking him over more closely for wounds. The attack was towards his head, so I will check. I already checked his mouth, nothing out of the ordinary there. I will check his neck and other areas too. Kota and I say thank you sooo much for your hopes of getting better soon. I don't like when he's sick. Makes me sad.
It is not uncommon for dogs (many animals) to have a social reaction to an attack. They will retreat to where they feel safest and that includes velcroing (is that a word?) themselves to people. A close inspection for puncture wounds is important and in a Corgi so difficult to find. We have a Shipoo (Corgi wanabee) that got into a tussle with one of the Corgis and even though uninjured she hid under the loveseat in the living room for two days.Didn't want to eat or go outside. After the two days she was back to herself..head butting the same Corgi that she fought with before...some never learn. I also do rehab work with Raptors. It is not uncommon for a screech owl to be picked on by a bunch of smaller birds. Even though the owl has no visable injuries they will oven go into a catatonic state. You can walk right up to them and pick them up. They seem almost tame. They don't eat for a day--just sit and stare, then begin to tamely take food from your hand. Just when you think they are as tame as a puppy they come out of it and when you try to feed them they attack. Good sign for recovery, but it always catches you off guard...I have a few scars to prove it! Hopefully Kota will recover quickly with no hidden injuries. Good luck Tauna and Kota!
Kota's nose was cold today! he is doing much better. He doesn't like when Turd comes near when I am holding him. He keeps a watchful eye on him. He Is still eating and drinking normally. I checked for wounds again. None i could see. I even used a comb and combed backwards so I could see the skin underneath all the fur. He was back to sleeping under my mom's bed last night and again tonight. I think all is well. Thanks everyone.
So glad to hear Kota is doing better!
