Barking
My 8 week old puppy will not bark! She whines and I have heard her growl when she was with her litter mates... She makes this motion with her mouth that looks like she might be trying, but nothing is coming out? I'm sure I'm worrying about nothing (I usually do), but I was wondering if anybody has had a similar experience or could shed some light on the situation. Thanks!

well my pitbull (who lives with my aunt and uncle now) had this problem. we got him as a puppy and he didnt learn how to bark until he turned about 11 months old. so maybe she hasnt learned yet.

Perhaps she will in the future! My sister's borzoi does the same thing and he's 2 years old. He will bark loudly sometimes, but most of the time he just sort of open and closes his mouth with nothing coming out. Lol!

Reese didn't bark when she was younger. She now barks once in a while when she feels something out of the norm. It's nice not having a barky dog. :-D

Sage rarely barks and I am hoping she continues like this as I have enough barkers! When she does bark she has a strange low bark compared to my others! Maybe yours will be more on the quite side!

Count your blessings, she will learn to bark and this time next year you will be saying "remember when she didn't bark". Our Chepstow barely ate until he was 18 months old (yes, he is a corgi) now he wants to eat all the time. We often say "remember when we tried so hard to get him to eat".
