About 3 or so weeks ago we found a small bump on max's tummy area. ( If it has been longer or shorter I'm sorry it's been a little crazy here). No big deal it was very small and wasn't bothering him. Then he started licking the area. About the same time Molly started to show some interest in it just kind of sniffing it every once in a while. Bottom line it has now doubled if not tripled in size this happened in about 3-4 days. Can't get to the vet till Monday afternoon. Any Ideas?

Glad you are taking him to the vet and hope it turns out to be nothing.
It will make you feel better once you find out what the growth is. Noodles is only 5 and he was 4 when my husband and I found a lump on Noodles right side, just below his rib cage. I had all the worse thoughts running through my mind until we could get Noodles in to see his vet. One thing that helped me was knowing that my parents miniature schnauzer had fatty lumps, but I thought Noodles was too young for them. Once we took him to the vet, we found out he had a fatty lump, so we just keep an eye on it. Not really sure why he already has one of them, but it hasn't grown in the 8 months since we found out and it doesn't bother him at all. His vet isn't concerned about it, but just told us to keep an eye on it in case it grows. I hope Max is okay and please give us an update. A couple questions, does it bother him when you push on it? Also, is it smooth? Noodles vet told us if it is smooth and it doesn't bother him when you push on it, then more than likely it is a fatty lump. If it feels kind of bumpy and it bothers him when you push on it, it might not be a fatty lump. It didn't bother Noodles one bit when they took a sample of it. I was up by Noodles face and he just gave me kisses the whole time.
It bothers him.He keeps licking it. We are checking every day now. It's gotten kind of black and yellow. looks like pus and I don't know about the black spot. He does not want any one to touch it. I'll let you know when we get back from the vets. KEEP YOUR FINGERS CROSSED.
I'm wondering if it could be an infected insect bite?
My 1st thought was an infection also. Something that grows that fast would not usually be a tumor. I'm glad he has an appointment as he may need ta have it lanced and get antibiotics. Let us know what happens.
Any news?
Ok it wasn't a growth it was a fly larve ( sheck out common cow grub ). These are common in cows. ( This fly had bad eye sight ). The vet knew just what it was and reached for the tweezers. My husband and I thought it was pus comming out when we looked but it was a 3/4 to an inch long grub thingie and it didn't want to leave ( Yes, it was alive ) The vet gave him a shot, irrigated with epson salts and has him on antibiotics for a week. We have to irrigate 2x a day till it heals too.Poor baby, every time it wiggled it caused pain and the longer it stayed the bigger it got. Hope it's all better now.
Oh gross! So gross! The things insects will do. Blech.

I am SO glad it was just that, though. My cat had a tumor that just appeared practically overnight, and it turned out to be cancer. But she was a very old kitty at the time. I learned the hard way, though, that fast-growing doesn't always mean benign.

Hope poor Max recovers quickly, and that it doesn't give you nightmares.
My black lab died of the same thing as your cat. She was 13.
SOOO glad it was something so easily treated! YEAH for good news!!!
I'm so glad Max is on the mend. Thank you for the update.
Oh great! Glad it turned out well.
