Orion has very stinky breath! It smells like old rotten garbage :( and he loves to give kisses. I brush Orion and Laika's teeth about every three days, the toothpaste is chicken flavored so I don't expect his breath to be minty fresh but any odor in Laika's mouth usually goes away after brushing (and her breath is never that bad to begin with) but with him his mouth still stinks. Any ideas on what I can do to freshen his breath a little bit? Are there doggy mints? If so do they work?

Any ideas will help! Thanks!

Wynn has stinky but not terrible breath and Bella has the best breath as it smells like grapes...my husband comments on it all the time....the rest we don't really notice. Sorry can't help!
Ha, I wish Orion's breath smelled like grapes!
It's strange to smell grape breath....but yes, very pleasant!
Old Mother Hubbard "Give Me A Kiss" treats are pretty good and don't have anything bad in them. DentaStix help, but are pricey. We also got skinny treats similar to DentaStix but only 17 calories (DentaStix are something like 70 calories each). They are called "Get Naked" and they look like green, skinny DentaStix and are a similar texture. We found them at PetSmart.
i have tried this arm and hammer dog treat and it works great:) i cant remember the actual name for it but its from arm and hammer. they come with four bones and they are not that bad with calories. i do recommend getting the large or xtra large as even those are a little small. make sure u supervise! u wouldnt want him to choke. but they work great and the stinky breath seems to be at bay for almost a week when ever i give teddy this
I use TropiClean, I got it at the pet store and it's a mint gel that both of my dogs like and it helps with brushing!! Or rather not having to brush. The gel helps remove tarter. It smells really good too! http://www.tropiclean.net/categories/fresh-breath.php
Have you checked to see if maybe he has a bad tooth or something else going on in his mouth that would cause such a bad odor?
Has he lost all of his puppy teeth yet? Sometimes the puppy teeth get stuck in their mouth, and according to my vet, start to rot VERY fast. I have had a couple animals (cats and dogs) that we took to the vet for nasty mouth, and all the vet did was run his finger over their teeth, and out popped a bunch of baby teeth. I can't imagine this would be a problem if you are brushing every 3 days, you'd think that'd get the teeth out, but I did have one cat that have to have a couple of baby teeth pulled. If nothing else, remember you can always call your vet and ask their opinion. Most vets will give you advice over the phone for free without you having to bring them in for a checkup. Good luck!!

Oh ya, and for Frosty's stinky mouth, we use Pedigree Dentasticks and YipYap Breath Mints
We feed raw meat. Started increasing the kibble (Wellness) and noticed that dogbreath seemed to increase with the kibble proportion.
Is Orion foraging for treats outdoors? We had to dogproof the compost bin.
I thought Orion's bad breath was due to teething but he lost all his teeth about a month ago and his mouth looks great, it just stinks. I'm going to Petco tomorrow to buy a new bette fish (mine died recently :( ) so I'll check out the products there and buy something. I'll be sure to post my results here, hopefully it'll work!
i found the name of the dog treats that freshen dogs breath, its called white bites and here is there web site

www.white-brights.com
i throw some parsley in the food processor and then sprinkle liberally on korvi's kibbles and it definitely improves his breath. smells a lot less like death afterwards.
