what is it about tall grass and corgis?
Does anyone else have a corgi that is totally nuts about playing in really tall grass? All 3 of my boys turn into rolling, diving, tag playing dolphins in tall grass. We have a large area on our property that we keep in 3 foot tall grass (very pretty in the wind, too) and the boys just LOVE it in there.
It's so tall that they completely disappear into the grass and I can track their game of tag by the movement of the grass or the occasional sighting as they jump around. IT seems to be the place game place in town...

Oh, yes; we live next to a large open field that only gets mowed three times a year and if my boys could run off leash (our yard is not fenced and the field eventually runs into a road), we'd never get 'em out of there. (Oh, and shall I mention that there's tasty deer poo in that tall grass?) :-) Even still, my daughters love to take them out there on leash and the dogs love it. Unfortunately, the fleas and ticks out there love my dogs. :-(
You should get video of your three running about and post it; I bet it's a thrill to see.

Casey and I go to the dogpark almost daily, and it has a ravine area for the dogs to play in (with lots of tall grass along the walking trail). Her regular playmates are a husky, an Australian cattle dog, and a lab/husky mix, and she dives right into the grass after them during a game of chase. You can see all her playmates running around, but never Casey. She randomly bursts out of the grass during a chase; people at the dog park think it's quite hilarious.

o yea! teddy goes wild in tall grass! i have never known why but he gets so excited he runs and bite the grass too. funny little dogs:) when i went home my parents have a field and the farmer had wheat this time of year and he seen it and bolted towards it(the farmer is actually horrible as mostly of it consisted of tall grass=o) lol

Isn't it funny? It's such a special play area and brings out really wild running and sort of diving and rolling around. Fun to watch them burst out or do the dolphin leaps once ina while. I have a little calico cat that tricks the 3 corgis into chasing her into the tall grass and then she disappears.
I notice this a.m that they also seem to have some tunnels in there--passageway through the grass.

Eek, just beware of ticks and fleas. Tall grass = complete submersion.

We use comfortis regularly and have never had any ticks or fleas yet ...hoping it stays that way! I also had a snow loving corgi when we lived up north and he was certainly fun to watch. i guess it's the beauty of the grass right now because of the gorgeous colors this fall. Oh well. they boys are just fun to watch no matter what they are doing!
