Happy Sunday everyone!! Here it is the official announcement of the 2015 WI Corgi Picnic!!

September 19, 1-5 p.m. @ the Jefferson County Dog Park (same area as last year)

The cost will be $5.00 per dog and must be paid at the podium before you enter the enclosure. We also ask that you bring a dish to pass.

As always we will have a Raffle For Rescues!! Tickets will be $1.00 for 1 ticket OR $5.00 for 6 tickets with proceeds being donated to FaerieLand Corgi & German Shepherd Rescue.

We will have Corgi breeders, a certified dog trainer, FaerieLand Corgi & German Shepherd Rescue and NEW for this year LURE COURSING ON-SITE!!!!

All dog breeds are welcome and will become honorary Corgis for the day!

We grow each and every year! Last year we had 77 Corgis in attendance and raised $620.00 for Rescue. I can't wait to see what this year will bring!!

I hope to see you all there!!!

Stephanie,

I looked for the 2015 invite I picked up at the Cheesehead Corgis Picnic last year and could not find it.  Thanks for sending that date.  I am going to put that event on my online calendar.  I plan to attend that as long as the weather is good.

Lisa ..........  I did not mean to imply that you and Charles organize events together.  Just wanted to mention both of the events that EACH of you coordinated.  I believe I posted "LA Stewart'"or'" Charles Jenkins have coordinated" and I meant that each have coordinated different events.  In looking at my wording, I guess one could take from it that I thought you both coordinated the events together..

Whatever .............. I was just trying to let her know that Corgi events were held in the past and that she can hopefully join up at one if held in the future.

Kallie, Thor, Kevin and I have always enjoyed the events which have been held in the past focusing on Corgi's and hope to see you at any events held this year.

I also put a link below to the Cheesehead Corgi's and the handout I received last year at the Cheesehead event listed the upcoming event to be held on September 19th at the same dog park, Jefferson County Dog Park in Wisconsin.  .

The Cheesehead Corgis always have a GREAT event.  They have a picnic, raffles, and a huge turn out....59(?) last year.  It will be in September.  Check out the Cheesenhead Corgis page later this summer and get the details.  I have attended that one every year for the last 5 years.  It is worth the drive!

CORGI-CON is my event in Champaign/Urbana, Illinois.  We had 39 Corgis last year at our third annual event.  No picnic...Urbana Park District does not allow food at their dog park.  Just a chance to get a group of Corgis together to play in our area.  We have had some Corgis come from Chicago.  Last year the couple who drove the farthest was from Davenport, Iowa. CORGI-CON 2015 will be May 16 pending approval from The Urbana Park District.

Charles Jenkins has planned some Corgi Play Dates at the Bloomington/Normal dog park.  I attended the one he had last April.  I don't know if he is planning anything for this year.  Hope so!

Stephanie's entry below had some information a bit wrong... Charles and I do not plan events together, but we attend each others' events.  I don't know if Charles has a name for his Corgi get togethers.  I only plan CORGI-CON and only once a year in May.

Hope to see everybody at CORGI-CON 2015!

I forgot that there is also usually an event in Wisconsin.  Hopefully they will have another this year.  Actually, I just found a flier from last year and it shows one for September 19th.  https://www.facebook.com/CheeseheadCorgis .  Here is a link to the event of last year:

All had a great time and a beautiful dog park for sure.

Hi, Laura....  I don't know about any upcoming Illinois corgi events, but often there is an event held in central Illinois called CorgiCon.  LA Stewart or Charles Jenkins have coordinated events for this group in the past.  Each time we went with our two Corgi's, all had a great time.  Hopefully something will be coming up this spring or summer.......

Hi there, Illinoisian corgi parents! I'm in the western suburbs of Chicago, so if anyone wants to get dogs together sometime, let me know. Hoping I can get my Rosie out to an event when the weather gets better!
