Radar (1 yr old) and Cooper (6 mths) are going at it all day long. Alot of this is play but sometimes it gets alittle out of control with them chasing through the house. Once in awhile they go at it like they're killing each other and I have to pull them apart. I give them a time out and put one in a closed off area, usually Cooper because he starts it. They definitely tire each other out but it's driving me crazy.  Radar is neutered and Cooper just got neutered. Is this how two males are?

It's probably more their age than their gender. They're both puppies, so all they want to do is play.
When my sisters pug and Lance played as puppies, it was never ending!! When it seemed to get a bit too crazy we would tell them enough, and by our voice they knew to settle down. Puppies have lots of energy, I dont know if ts two boy thing or not, but it sure seemed like they were more energized, lol. Marcus and Lance also seemed like they would go non stop all day long playing, it was exhausting to watch!! :) It seemed to last until they were both at least two maybe almost three, now they are four and still like to play but calm down and take more breaks.
No I don't think it's a male thing as my females will do this also! Time outs and a stern "no" depending on the severity are good! Yes...they are young and having fun!
You guys made me feel better. It's been raining for the last 3 days and I guess they have cabin fever on top of it. Radar won't go out in the rain unless he has to go really bad. Cooper could care less.
Lance hates the rain as well....he will not go unless absolutely necessary, except he seems to not mind peeing as much in tne rain. :(
It must be something with the name "Radar." My Radar will not go out in the rain either unless his bladder can't
take it anymore. If it storms he barks at the thunder and we have to crate him in order to get sleep.
I agree with the others, except that I would not separate or punish them for rough play or even squabbles. The ability to start, have, and end an argument without injury to either partner is VITAL to dogs, and when we stop them in the middle they don't get a chance to finish it and be friends again. That's what starts to build grudges. As long as they're not trying to actually predate on each other - as long as there's no injury - let them finish it. It will sound awful but then they'll stand up and both of them will shake off and lick each other and go back to playing.
I got so tired of continually washing all the imaginary blood off the walls and ceiling when Al was a puppy. They killed each other repeatedly over and over ad infinauseum. Sometimes I just left it splattered all over the place.
Yoda and Chewie go at it all day, sometimes there are even chunks of fur flying out. I have learned to ignore their play fighting :P
And the noise is terrific. Our boys play pretty rough and wrestle a lot and make ferocious noises. They also play tag with the younger guy always chased by the older, No 1 dog. It starts with a classic play bow and then the little guy takes off. Now we've added an outside cat who also gets into the tag game.

The play fights can be really noisy and scary sounding to folks that have really quiet dogs.
I would like to have another puppy "right now"!!! Our vet recommended that we wait until Riley is 2 years...so be it. I told our breeder I would be looking for another male as sweet as Riley...she suggested that I might consider a female, that some times 2 males will fight! Okey, a female it will be. Another year is a long time to wait :)
My two males are from different breeders--both are pet quality. The second guy, Pats, is so extra sweet that I'm on a waiting list from that breeder so that I can get a full brother to him. I think the litter is planed for late spring and we can't wait to get another puppy. I'd have a dozen if I could manage it! Our two guys are quite affectionate towards each other even if they do play fight, wrestle and chase a lot.
