I just read the synopsis of Born of the Night and it doesn't sound like vampires. It's about some group of assasins.

Edward & Gemima- Personally, I like Blue Bloods better. The fourth one just came out and I'm rereading them. They have a unique mythology for vampires that I enjoy. I have seen 1 1/2 seasons of True Blood and read book one and two for Sookie, but I don't plan on reading the rest. I don't know why, but I had a hard time getting into them. It does appear to appeal to a lot of ppl though and I know other ppl who have read it. I haven't heard of Born of Night either. The name definitely sounds vamp/warewolf, etc related though.

I have not read the Blue Blood series but will definitely look into it.

I am reading the Sookie Stackhouse series. I've only read the first couple so far but I like it. If you are watching the True Blood show, the first book starts off just like the first season of the show, word for word, then some things change. I would still read the first one even if you have watched the first season of the show.

Have not heard of Born of Night.

My next series will be either the Blue Blood series or the Sookie Stackhouse/True blood series! Any recommendations on which one is better?? Has anyone heard of the book Born of Night by Sherrilyn Kenyon?? It is #4 on the best seller paperback nonfiction list this week and I was wondering if it is Vamp related????

Thanks! I have the same problem with long lists of books. There should be a Book Buyers Anonymous group because my vice is buying too many books. Then I figured out the library is a much cheaper place to get books. =) The issue with my list is that when the library has them available, I'm not ready. Or if I am ready then other people want them, too.

I think I mentioned this to you, Alice, in the Twilight group, but if anyone hasn't read the Blue Bloods series I recommend it for a new concept about vampires. I thought about it because you mentioned the vamps sparkling in the sun and Stephenie she was trying something new. The Blue Bloods series has a really cool spin on vamps. At least, I think it's cool. =)

Welcome Cassie, David and Izzy!

I have literally about 40 books lined up that I want to read and I can't make any headway. As soon as I finish one book a new one comes out that I have to add to the list. :)

I did enjoy New Moon, I just missed the vampires and was glad when they reentered the story.

My biggest complaint about that entire series is the fact that Stephenie Meyer wrote vampires who sparkle in the sun. I realize she wanted to go away from the usual mythology an that’s great, but I think that was an incredibly dumb idea.

I know a lot of people felt that way about New Moon, but I liked the friendship between Jacob and Bella.... If he had not been around I'm not sure if Bella would've made it emotionally! I also like the mystery of what is happening in La Push with Jacob and friends turning into shifters and not really understanding what is going on... I know what you mean about a couple pages at a time, I often get mad at myself for falling asleep b/f I want!!

Welcome to the group!

New Moon was one of my least favorites, mainly because Edward wasn't in it enough. The end was fast paced and exciting though.

I always have a book I'm reading but it often takes me twice as long as it should to finish a book because I can't get enough reading time in. Usually I'm trying to get a few pages in before bed but by then I'm tired and I only end up getting through 6 or 7 pages.
