I loved The Help! It was beautifully written and a different take on the Civil Rights movement. Just started Why My Third Husband Will Be A Dog by Lisa Scottoline. My Sister-in-law got it for me because the author has a corgi. It is a hysterically funny collection of short stories and observations. I highly recommend it to all women.

I just finished book 5 of the Sookie books and even though I thought I would take a break to read something else, I started the next book. It's hard to find a stopping point since they always end leaving you wondering what's going to happen next and what made it worse was that Finnigan got me the next 3 books for Valentines day (that's my sweet puppy) so it was sitting right there tempting me. I guess Water for Elephants will have to wait a little longer.

I really loved Edgar Sawtell. It slows at times, but definitely worth the read for any dog owner and dog lover. Great writing and gives unique insights into dogs and breeders/ owners/ trainers.

I guess I will have to give in and read Edgar Sawtell. I'll have to look it up again; I don't even remember what it is about. Right now I'm in the middle of the Sookie Stackhouse series and after that I want to read Water for Elephants it'll have to be after that. I probably have at least 50 books in my "to read" stack and I buy them faster than I can read them. That's not even including all the books everyone has recommended to me.

I'm trying to get my husband to read Under the Dome. He's a bigger Stephen King fan than myself and always said he pictured the Billy-Bumbler from Dark Tower as part Corgi, part Raccoon. I told him this one actually has a Corgi in it.

You might enjoy "The Daily Coyote". It is a little childishly written, but the story is charming, and the pictures are beautiful! It helped me see coyotes less like total criminals ( my sisters dauschound was killed by one in her backyard). It certainly does not portrait the Coyote as a dog, but gives insight into their preditory nature in a sympathetic light.

Oh yes! Spy the little corgi on the cover of "Under The Dome". Horace! I liked "Shadows In The Wind" better than "Angles Game", but my daughter has very similar reading tastes, and liked "Angles Game" better. And, Alice, read Edgar Sawtell! Steven King uses the same line I like to use- I don't re-read, there are too many good books out there. He said he'll probably re-read this one. I agree!

I enjoy mysteries and comedies as well. I'll read most anything aside from romance novels. I'll have to look at the one you mentioned.

Ok so I see most everyone is into different books than I read. Mostly I read mysteries. However I like a comedy now and then. One I really liked was Finding Mr. Right by Emily Carmichael. The lead character dies and comes back as a corgi, to make ammends for her past. The author captured the corgi behavior perfectly. Just thought I would pass this on.

I have been reading The Help and I highly recommend it. It is a fascinating look at the lives of both white and black people just prior to the civil rights movement. Izzy loves it when I read because she is a couch potato and it means I will sit with her.

Mendy, I just started reading Under the Dome, and I don't know if you know this (I only found out after a friend told me) but if you look closely at the cover, in the middle of the grassy area, the corgi is sitting front and center. However, I'm only about 45 pages into it, so I have yet to meet the corgi.
