I looked at those books but couldn't decide if I wanted to read them based on the synopsis. Glad to hear you are enjoying them. I am reading the 3rd Sookie Stackhouse book right now. A writer I know suggested a trilogy called the Darkangel Trilogy by Meredith Ann Pierce. It's an older series but she said for vampire fans it's a great story. Anyone read it? I may have to give it a try but for now I'm content reading the Sookie books. :)

Half way thru Masquerade love the different spin on becoming a vampire that these books have!

My sister-in-law just got me a book by Lisa Scottoline called "My Third Husband Will Be A Dog" . The photo of the author on the back includes a corgi. Should be fun to read.

I'm about to finish a book called the Gates by John Connolly. I really liked the Book of Lost Things which he also wrote but this book I'm unsure of. It has a fun tone to it and reads like a British comedy but I can't help but feel like it's missing something. Maybe I was just expecting too much because the Book of Lost Things was so good.

I have not read Edgar Sawtelle but because of how people react to it (they either love it or hate it) it reminds me of the Time Traveler's Wife. I hated that book and I know some people who also hated it but there are many who absolutely loved it.

Actually there were many parts of Edgar Sawtelle that I loved.

Little Bear I agree with you about the books and tv show. I am waiting on season 2 to come out on dvd because I don't get HBO. They are different but I like the differences.

I tried to get through Sawtelle but just could not. I finally read the end and decided to quit! My father in law loved it and felt it would be a classic that will be taught in schools. So go figure!!

Yah, everyone keeps telling me the show is totally different. I thought the first season was very close to the book. It started off word for word then minor changes took place. The biggest difference was that many of the main characters on the show had small roles in the first book (ie Jason, Lafayette). I'm excited to see how different the second season is! I didn't know that the same person played Meekus; how funny. :)

Lucy,
I really wanted to see Brothers but my husband wasn't very enthused about it. I guess that will be a rental. I'm glad to hear it was good!

Happy Holidays everyone! Hope the new year brings much happiness and prosperity and everything that '09 lacked. :)
