Luna has OFFICIALLY passed her control test. She can now start her supervised visits for certification. Yay!

I forgot to let you all know that Luna passed her test to become a therapy dog, BUT it will not be official until she's actually a year old - and they'll need to retest because of that stipulation.  But I am SO relieved that she is meeting all her requirements (except age, haha).  She'll be a year old on Sept 4th, so I'll be very excited when we're all good.  I cannot wait to start our supervised hours to see how she does.

took teddy to the nursing home about a week ago, even though hes still in training they wanted us to come in and have teddy meet and greet the folks. he did great! even when he encountered things he has never seen before. the only problem we are having is he will go up to the person, let them pet him but then comes straight back for a treat :/  at times he wouldnt even take his eyes of the treat bag. o teddy..i think it was becasue it was a new place and new treats. the high value ones

I would love to train my corgi as a therapy dog. I work at a hospital and get a chance to see how wonderful the dogs are and how the patients just love them. When I worked over at the nursing home we had a resident who was turning 102 and we wanted to do something for her birthday. We invited the therapy dogs for a little party and Bella, a little therapy dog, sat on her lap the entire time. When it came time to sing happy birthday she would only allow us to sing to the dog. It was so great to see how one little dog made this lady's day! I would love to Ellie to be apart of something like this, but don't know where to begin.

it's been lovely to read all the comments about the Therapy Dogs. At the moment my therapy dog is curled up by my feet, snoring gently after a hard days work. She was the first corgi her trainer had trained as a therapy dog and was delighted with the results.  Good luck to all the corgis in training.
