I'm interested in a tri-colored corgi puppy.  I want to contact a breeder in the area, because I'd like to know about the puppies BEFORE they're born so that I can request the tail not be docked. …Continue

I LOVE THE LOOK OF MY TRI COLORED PEM , THE TRIS ARE A LITTLE BIT UNUSUAL THAN THE RED AND WHITES AND YES OEOPLE ARE ALWAYS ASKING ME WHAT IS IT.

Lisa/Tia: Amos is picky about who he likes. He's polite to everyone, but only certain people (adults or children) get his full enthusiasm. We've found that generally kids seem to have no clue about how to approach a dog in a mannerly way and I think many dogs just get tired of being smacked around under the guise of being "petted". (We guard Amos zealously from such kids, but many dogparents don't.)

Glad to join the group. We have only seen a couple tri colored corgi's in our area. Everyone loves her coloring and thinks she is beautiful. She loves all the attention too. She seems to love adults, but could care less about kids. Have you noticed this with yours?

Thanks Molly (and adorable Isabella). I thought he was the cutest one in the litter, but really resisted picking him because I didn't want to pick based on looks. So, I played with all the puppies, trying to pick one that was the most interactive and had the best personality. I held Ffionn on his back to see what he would do and he leaned forward and touched his nose to mine. That was it. I didn't care if he was the cutest or the least cute in the bunch. I was sold.

I love the uniqueness of tris! Isabella is a fluffy, to boot! We recently lost out 10 year old German Shepherd and I've always thought tris do kind of resemble them. ;o)

OMG, yes!!! We just joined this group because we were so happy to see other Tris!! Amos' tail wasn't docked, so that makes him even more unusual to people who've only seen the Queen's version of Pems. Most people think he's a German Shepherd-Corgi mix because of the tail and no white on his nose. We do get tired of the "yes, he's really a Corgi..." conversation. Amos' vet says, "Yeah, and I don't look like Brad Pitt, either, but that doesn't mean I'm not a member of the same breed!" Ah, to be among others who understand.....
