Curious case of the pukes

Posted on November 18, 2010 at 11:52am 11 Comments

So Callie goes through phases where she will be perfectly fine, then she will throw up, then be fine again. How it usually goes is we get up, she runs around and begs for food, but doesn't eat the food just yet. Then she will play some more, pukes (twice), then goes off to eat her food. Then she carries through the day with no problems, only to repeat the thing the very next day. This will go on for a few days and then she will be fine for a week or so until it starts up again.

One month after surgery

Posted on October 2, 2010 at 11:38pm 3 Comments

So it's a little over a month after Callie had a softball sized benign tumor removed from her intestine and she has made a wonderful recovery. She's back to her old self again... well besides one thing. She begs for food now. Before the surgery she would rarely beg for food, in fact I'd usually have to remind her to eat. Now it will be an hour or so before I feed her and she looks up at where I keep her food and at her dish. And she does this all the time. It's not a bad thing, at least she… Continue

Pathology results!!!

Posted on September 11, 2010 at 4:30pm 11 Comments

So the vet called me yesterday and gave me and Callie some wonderful news. Callie had leiomyoma which is a benign tumor that was located in her intestines. And since they took out all of it there is no additional follow-up is necessary. So she is cancer free and can live a normal life after this whole ordeal! (Which is great because we all believed it to be cancer and that we'd have to keep an eye on her to make sure it didn't come back.)

Other updates are that she is finally on… Continue

Recovery- Day by day

Posted on September 4, 2010 at 2:22pm 10 Comments

Today is Callie's 5th day of recovery and also the day we can start switch her to more solid canned dog food. She has been eating mushed up watered down canned dog food since the surgery. She gets fed frequently to just make it so she doesn't eat a lot at once and cause pressure on her intestine. So far today I've been slowly increasing the size of the bites (they are small chunks now) and by mid next week we may even start mixing in Kibble.

Everyday Callie has just seemed to get better… Continue

Recovery- She is home!

Posted on September 1, 2010 at 7:09pm 6 Comments

I got to bring Callie home today, we still need prayers that things keep going good. She has been very happy and staying close to her mama. Its already been tough to keep hercalm. She is on a special diet for awhile, which she really likes the food so that is good. I am off to spend more time with her and I will keep everyone updated.

For those who don't know what I'm talking about check out my previous blogs.

Callie is grogeous!! She looks just like my corgi who passed away last year, dinky, when she was a pup! :) how lucky are you to have a small corgi, too! I had a runt
corgi puppy who was stolen several years ago... I love the tiny little runts!!

Wow, Murphy and Callie do look a lot alike. They could definitely pass as being relatives for sure. She's a cutie, I like the white on her face in between her eyes.

Is callie full grown now? How much does she weigh? Our dog was the runt of her litter also and she is 15lbs @ 7 months. I don't think she will be getting any bigger.

Callie is adorable!!!! Our last two dogs were runts of the liter and I think they make wonderful pets! They're usually more submissive and willing to listen to instruction. Congrats on the move! Look forward to getting to know you both. WElcome to Corgie of Christians.
