Today was my corgi kids ninth birthday. To celebrate we had a watermelon festival. (It kinda' looks like a watermelon killing). I can't believe it has been nine years. My corgis are my heart! We have had nine wonderful, love filled and laughter filled years!…

I can't believe that Stanley has been here for a month already! The dynamics between Stanley and Stella have definitely changed in the past week. She was grumbly with him and cautious for the first couple of weeks. She also was looking for Annie, her husky sister she grew up with, who had to be put to sleep only days after Stan arrived. In this last week, though, Stella has been initiating play with Stanley, and they even share toys now. She chases him around the house and loves to herd…

Hi All,
Thank you for the messages of support I'm touched!. We went and looked at the 2 rural properties both were unsuitable!. Paul my Partner hesitated and after talking to me I told him the offer was…

The little guy made it from New Mexico. the vet says he's about 18 months old. He's underweight and blowing his coat, but he just wants a lot of love. Just wanted to share this happy little guy.

Well it's now wintertime here in Sydney Australia Oscar and Sam love it as they can laze around the house in front of the fire and do nothing!. Oscar has his heater pad under his dog rug on his trampoline bed Sam has his doona which he snuggles under!. As yet not a lot of rain so we are able to go for our walks in the park. We are hoping our house sells quickly before the wet weather sets in and I'm pushing my Partner Paul for a single level home as I notice with Oscar now over 10 he stands…

We went to the Whisker Walk today with our pup, and had a blast! Though, I totally lost the dog bed I bought him... :(
Even with my absent-mindedness, we still got a fair amount of pupswag (and things for the cats, too!)
Machete got some special pupday biscuits from Sue's Barkery and they…

Terms of Endearment? Love and Affection? or has she subtly figured out how to deal with hanging with a corgi. After spending the last few years watching the bond grow between my dogs (a corgi and a non corgi) I am thinking more the latter. My non Corgi, Lexus, knows that mortals are attracted to the funny looking little beast that she lives with, Austin. They want to pet him, photograph him, and feed him first, although he is an anti-social, grumpy little man. She knows , however, that she…

The day I brought Maple home, I was so anxious to have the excitement of a cute puppy running around the house. She was rambunctious in every way but I totally loved it and her. She would tear apart anything I would give her in minutes! She had never ending energy, always wanting to play with others or herself. She never had a problem keeping herself entertained! Boy, I miss those days!
Maple turned 3 years old last month, and her bday gift was a new chew toy. Which is still…

Wondering if Abbi is crazy or just displaying great instincts... she is keeping the puppy from going off the deck and more and more her barking has become high pitched and she seems agitated... and overly excitable. She has been overweight for a little corgi and yet she is trying to chase and herd the puppy ... with a vengeance.
Hoping someone might have some insight. I think these are overpowering instinct, but she is almost vibrating as she before she barks and they are not cute…

I took Oscar and Sam to the park yesterday and they were running around and Sam tore off after a rabbit!. Well later that night Paul had Oscar on his lap and noticed something near his eye and on closer inspection he noticed a tick!. straight away he had it off Oscar and into a dish of bleach to kill the little nasty!. Oscar knew Paul was helping him and licked his face as if to say a big thank you!. We inspected both dogs over thoroughly and thank goodness there was only the one!.. It…
