Corgi Aggression

She's a lover and a fighter! We took LeeLoo home to meet my parents dog this weekend. Josie is a 3 year old small (possibly some King Charles/spaniel/terrier) who loves other dogs and people alike. We began them walking the drive way for about 20 minutes with one in front of the other. LeeLoo was the first to growl then bark. The closer Josie got, the more fearful and aggressive LeeLoo became.

LeeLoo came with the disclaimer that she did not do well with other dogs. We had taken her to… Continue

New Family Member!

So a couple weeks ago a member on these forums (Cheryl Lyons) post pics of her newly fostered pembroke that had 5 puppies. I contacted Cheryl after seeing the photos about adopting one of these cute little pups.

This past weekend my husband and I made the 6 hour trip to pick out our new puppy! :D

There are still 2 pups available, if you are looking to adopt  near the holidays!…

Whining corgi

Has anybody experienced a whining corgi in the middle of the night? I couldn't sleep and was wondering if there were any solutions you guys might have. It seems that he wanted the mice under the floorboards. I've tried telling him to stop, to sleep, and to let him sniff the spot. Any suggestions?

Also I've created a group called new york city corgis. check it out if you live in the area.

Thanks,

Week Seven W/ Luna, Puppy Parade, & Misty's Health

Luna now has a few more commands in her repertoire: sit, down, leave it, the touch game, and we're working still on stay. As of the 18th we have now had 4 sessions of Puppy Kindergarten and she is enjoying those classes, to say the least. Our trainer thinks she might do well in the herding classes they offer up in Escondido - I may ask her for more information about that next…

Kali is well on the way to recovering from being spayed

Well, it has been a week today since Kali got spayed.  She is raring to go and acts like she has never had anything done. Of course she still has her stiches in so she still has her cone on (we get the stiches out on Tuesday) and orders from the vet to stay calm.  She had a little fluid under the skin which came from too much activity. So as a result, she is  being carried up and down the stairs - on a leash when we go outside and on a leash inside when she gets too rambunctious.  I can't…

Alleluia!

It’s snowy and cold out so Mum only lets us out for only little bit at a time.  I don’t know why this is.   Both Lily and I LOVE the snow and, with or without our sweaters, we don’t think it is cold at all.

The other day, Daddy came in from the back door and said, “Was a big dog on our stoop or was it rabbits?”  Mum began to laugh and said, “There’s rather a large disparity in the choice, isn’t there?”  She picked me up and we looked out the window of the back door.   She looked down…

"Jonny, is this heaven?"

....panted Dewi with childlike wonder. To which Jonny innocently replied, "Yeah, Dew, I think it is."

Oh, to be a well-fed Corgi with his best bud in a blanket of fluffy new snow.…

One Pooped Pup

Well Today, with Ace in tow, I went over to my Aunts house for the day. I asked her previously if she would help me make some cookies for christmas presents, since well the longer i work at my place of job the lower income i seem to have >: so no chance at fancy presents like last year. I set Ace down on the floor to play with Jettson and Pebbles at noon or slightly after and they played well into 5-6pm When we finally got home around 8-9pm Ace ate his dinner then passed out under the…

Frappin' Around the Christmas Tree...

It's been hard to be in the Christmas spirit this year. I've been nearly bedridden with two herniated discs in my lower back for the last two months. But it is Søren's first Christmas and I've been looking forward to that since the day I got him! He's getting a Hide-A-Squirrel and the IQube Holiday Puzzle Toy.…

Watching the dog show

Our usual weekend afternoon consist of me and rhun cuddling on the couch while adora rummages about with her toys and trying to pick on her brother. But on saturday the dogs where outside playing in the snow when i saw that the canadian international dog show was on TV the second i switched the channel they went nuts barking to come back in.... Could they really hear the tv? It is very unlikely it was luck because my dogs never bark to come inside, especially only after being out there 5…

Why do corgis have little "bald" spots?

Today, I was looking at pictures of Sam's puppy dogs, and I noticed that Vienna (I think) has a little pink bald spot on her nose, very similar to the one that Tobi has on her snout. I have looked at photographs of other corgis, and it seems pretty common. Why do corgis get these little "bald" spots?

Too Cold For Tobi!

I recently moved from Grand Rapids to Ann Arbor. I lived in Ann Arbor for about 4 years before I moved to Grand Rapids, so this was a move back.

In my mind, winters are milder here - less snow! But this particular storm has brought rather chilly temperatures with it.

I have had Tobi for about a year and a half - this isn't her first winter in Michigan. She loves bounding around in the snow! I was surprised, though, at how quickly the temperatures got to her…

Oh no you didn't!!!

So, tell me, how can one little puppy cause so much grief and so much joy at the same time? Ha!

Yesterday was a day of decorating...you know, the tree, the lights, the decorations. Of course, the kids picked out the largest tree known to mankind, so we had to put it in our living room instead of our family room. While I'll miss sitting on the couch in the darkness, admiring the sights of the twinking lights and the aroma of our Christmas tree, I'm sure it will be safer out of…
