We're Flying!

Living 3,000 miles (without a car) from the town I grew up in creates some interesting challenges for me and my sweet baby pup. I decided to bite the bullet and book a flight to share my little joy with the rest of my family... and their chihuahuas.

I wanted to take advantage of his age and his size, because the only other time we'll be able to do this is when I get a car and drive cross-country... which won't happen any time soon...

Wynstan is getting in the spirit of Mardi Gras

My mother came home with a King Cake from New Orleans. They are the cakes that have the little baby in it and you have to hope you don't get it.

Well, my father found the baby in his piece and accidentally dropped it. Of course, Wynstan scarfed up that little baby.

Should I take him to the vet or wait to see if it passes?

nipping at heals

hi my 12 week old puppy is starting to nip at my two girls heals, shes ok with me just not the girls, we keep telling her to stop and rewarding her when she does, any other tips would be appreciated, thanks

No name for our puppy!

We have had our puppy for 4 days now, and he still doesn't have a name! We have gone over tons of names and nothing seems to fit, and it is becoming very frustrating to address bad behavior, or even good behavior when he does not have a name. Not to mention I am trying to fill out some paperwork for the vet and our country dog license, but we can't complete anything without a name. Anyone else had this issue before? My puppy is now home after 4 months of trying to get her back!!!!

It's been one of those days BUT has turned out very well! Yea! Rosie is home with us at last. Some of you know I was getting calls from a woman that bought a puppy from me last April but she kept wanting to keep her even though she was frustrated (as I'm sure the dog was too living in an apartment with only very short walks and a child with ADHD). Nose to Nose contact IZ BAD!

Irresistible Attraction

My job introduced me to many different breeds of dogs, large, small,old, and young. Some dogs were very territorial and had to be treated respectfully and cautiously. Quick Update

There will be no need to go to court over the incident, because the neighbor is going to jail. I rather not air out other people's dirty laundry, but I am glad this is behind us.

Wynstan has had no accidents in 3 weeks. I am so proud of him. He got play with my brother's German Shepherd today, and they did great as always. I am sure Wynstan thinks he is three times bigger than her.

12 Week Check Up

Today the baby Jackson, who I am completely obsessed with at this point, had his 12 week check up. My fantastic vet said he is doing simply amazing.

He had *another* wormer today and his second set of shots (DA2LPP). Our doc said he didn't event cry when he got his shot! What a good pup.

Two Years Old!

Hey everyone! Today is Grover's birthday! He is an awesome two years old! (As a side note, his yucky eye is SO much better today, just in time for birthday fun!) We didn't do a whole lot. Countdown to puppy time: 2 weeks!

Livvy is still "hanging" in there but preferring more time away from the other 4 legged household members maybe it's due to her being almost as wide as she is long! I don't know what to expect as this will be her 1st litter...but we are ready and waiting!

The First Night!!

After kids went to bed, we took Zena to my office on the second floor. We decided to use pee pee pads for first a couple of days so I placed the pee pee pad right next to her crate. Surprisingly, she went in and out of her new crate. Well she did not stay long but I was happy to see her going in on her own. Here comes! A new adventure together.

I started to search for a family dog around summer time. I was not sure which breed to get. I had limited experience with dogs (some mixed breeds) but I knew that I would love to have one for the the family, especially kids. Epiphany.

I had a light bulb moment this morning. I've been trying to figure out why Goldy's potting training hasn't gone well, and comparing her progress to Bear's.

Then I realized -

I got Bear in March.

I got Goldy in October.

I'm a teacher, so I'm off from June through mid August - see where this is going?

Bear was only alone all day for about 2 months, then I was home with him all day - playing outside, walking going to the dog park - therefore a MUCH easier… Continue
