Glass in the yard?

My boyfriend just told me that Dex cut his mouth on some glass found in our back yard. Apparently the kids have been throwing glass in the yard ever since we got him. He said he is going to go talk to their parents. Stupid kids...

UPDATE:

Kid confessed and apologized. His mom wanted us to make him do work around our yard, but we decided against that. An apology and consideration to our pup was all we wanted. ^___^ Hopefully it doesn't happen again. Thanks for all the… Continue

Pet Airways Endorsed by.... Corgis!

On the website for this new airline that sends your pets around the country in the cabin, not cargo, on the "What People Are Saying" page, the very first endorsement is by a woman on the beach with two Corgis, a tri and a red! At least, I presume the endorsement is by her -- I have accused Ethel of firing off some emails and using my credit card online when I'm not looking. Would be particularly amusing if this Kim, San Jose, is… Continue

We just adopted a Corgi

We just added another Corgi to the household. Kimchi (like the Korean dish) is a 1 yr old tri-colored pembroke with pointy ears and a big smile. She is already close to us.

1st time to the Beach

Ella went to the beach today for the very first time. We live about an hours drive from Lake Michigan, so we went to the sand today. She loved playing in the sand, digging, and she even got in the water for a minute. I know now how cute a corgi is when they dig, and that her butt and nose are the only parts that float.

Pictures to follow.…

Trouble with Heartworm medication

Samantha is having trouble finding a heartworm medication that sets well with her. We have tried Interceptor, Revolution now I have a prescription from our vet for Heartgard. The trouble Sami has is with the first one 2 to 3 days after taking it she is tired doesn't want to eat, with Revolution she seemed okay until I did some research and found out that if not applied properly then they are not protected. It has to go on the skin and I just don't want to take the chance that I mess up giving… Continue

Puppy videos

I created an account in Youtube to post Shiro's videos. I figured it's be a lot easier than to post the videos on all social networking sites that I am a member of.
If you would like to see them, here's the link
http://www.youtube.com/user/ShiroTheCorgi#play/all
My fave is the one where he rolls on the floor after bath. Shiro used to be very vocal back then. :)
Enjoy!

Update on Sami getting spayed today

First thanks everyone for all your good thoughts, wishes and prayers because they worked!!!!!! Fran, our vet called me at 9:45 this morning to tell me that her surgery was very hoo hum, boring just the way she likes them to be. No problems of any type plus Sami was already lifting her head up looking around and trying to stand up when she called. I dropped her off at about 7:15 (that's when they took her back, uugghh). Sami weighed in at 18.2 lbs.! I got to work at 7:30 and did not get out… Continue

Perianal Fistula

This is not a very "nice" subject, but has anyone ever had a Corgi with a Perianal Fistula? My vet and I just discovered that mine has 2. My vet sees them all the time in Gernam Shepherds and several other breeds. When I had Gernam Shepheds and was showing them, I had several that had them over the course of time. My vet has been practicing for 30 years and is a "wonderful" diagnostician.

Single Girl and her Corgi

So this post is to all the single people out there. I am just newly single and kept my baby, Monty in the breakup. I am not ready to date yet but I am starting to realize that I might have a problem when I do. Monty is a total momma's boy and is getting more and more protective of me. I am going to work on this with a behaviorist because if there is another man in the house (friend, landlord) and talking to me he starts barking like mad. He is also protective of me with other dogs. We were at a… Continue

Samantha gets spayed today

Well the morning has arrived. Right now Sami is banging her food and water bowls around in the kitchen. She did not like the fact that she did not get her cottage cheese first thing and now has not received any breakfast at all. I will take her in at 7 this morning visit her later today but they will be keeping her over night. Then I will go get her first thing in the morning and will take three days vacation to be with her. I am nervous and worried, we all the faith in the world in our vet and… Continue

Antifreeze Update

Thank you all for your prayers, comments and good thoughts! They were certainly needed. Last night was very tough for us not having our little girl home. I shed a lot of tears. Knowing you all were praying was a huge comfort though.

We just visited her at the pet hospital this evening and the vet said that she felt Chloe would fully recover as she hasn't shown any signs of poisoning all day. It was sooooo very good to hear that! However they will still do a kidney/blood test tomorrow… Continue

Yoda the deadly predator

Yoda is an unbelievable fast puppy, not to mention quick with his mouth. What is the most surprising part is his predatory instinct.

Couple weeks ago, when I took him for a walk. We passed an open ditch. Yoda made a really fast move. Before I knew what is going, he had swallowed a cockroach. Yes, a cockroach. He was crunching it and he had a big grin on his face.

Last weekend, I was walking him through the park we always go. He caught a geko (a small white lizard commonly… Continue

So much for sleeping in...

Oscar used to be very good about being quiet in his bed in the morning until we came to take him out. He would let us sleep in on the weekends and wouldn't make a peep. Lately this has not been the case. Oscar is up every morning seemingly with the sun. Normal 8am but sometimes as early as 6!! I work 11am-8pm and my boyfriend normally closes his store getting home after 1am. Needless to say we are not morning people. We have been exercising him just as much one nice long walk a day and… Continue

Antifreeze

We were having a wonderful time while visiting my parents for the 4th of July. As usual we had brought our bubbly pup Chloe with us. On Saturday night my dad had let us know that he had been having issues with skunks (they live in the country) and that he had set out some antifreeze to try to poison them. We had kept Chloe on a leash or on her chain while she was outside the whole time and had her far away from the deadly, sweet drink.

This morning as we were getting ready for the… Continue

Bad dog trainer, BAD!

So Owen and I took a trip to the Ft. Steilacoom dog park today.. which is huge. Last time we were there we had a great time and even met some other corgis. All and all had a good time. This time we ran into this awful woman who introduced herself as a trainer as Owen was playing with her awful poodle and awful chihuahua. She commented on how lean Owen looked and asked me how much I fed him. I said we feed him 1 cup a day over two feedings. He is a year old and quite active as we are. She looked… Continue

A tribute to Corgis in my etsy shop!

I've always been into arts and crafts, and recently I decided to make some new stuff all inspired by corgis. Right now I have 2 new plushies, and am planning to make many more.

You can view these little guys on my etsy page: www.jenfuj.etsy.com

Thanks for looking, and may our love for corgis never end! :)
