How to report a bad breeder?

So we finally got my puppy, Copper in for his exam. I walked in nervous and walked out ticked. We had a fetal and ear swab done as well as a comprehensive exam. Here are all the results that Copper has:

1. Flea dermatitis- Being bitten so much he now has a bad allergic reaction to them.

2. Ear mites- They weren't just present, it was a chronic infection.

3. Distended abdomen- His little belly was so swollen, of course, he had worms.

4. Chronic overbite- Not only will he… Continue

Update from Noodle, Bear and the pups

Like I said last time, all other pups found good homes and they are pretty close to us so we are planning to have family gathering for them this summer maybe :) Hubby and I decided to keep Udon and Ramen so out family now has 4 dogs: Noodle, Ramen, Udon, and Bear. <3 I love them all. (Even tho having 4 dogs = being broke when it's time to buy dog food and treats, but IT'S TOTALLY WORTH IT, because they are the cutest things on Earth. Plus, we rather keep them than giving them out to…

Really Pretty Shippo Picture!

It's been a long time since I've gotten a nice standing profile (stack/"show pose") type photo of Shippo.

He's 6 years old now, and my nice expensive DSLR camera is dead. So I took like 50 photos with the crappy little Kodak EasyShare camera I've got left, and got this ONE presentable photo LOL. It was nice enough, especially with this little camera, that I…

Please Vote For Contest!

Just came across this photo contest :) I had posted a discussion earlier but I decided this is more of a blog post. I just entered Napolean in this photo contest (to see which dog is the most photogenic) ,and I would say we have a slim chance of making it in but we'd be happy if you voted for us or just some other pup ;) Thanks so much in advance!

Why do you climb 3000 feet in 4 miles?

Not for the exercise, not for the views.

There are picnics at the top.  And when one group finishes, the next group will arrive. With more food.

It's amazing what a corgi remembers from one year to the next.  We haven't don't this trail since last summer, but he knew about a half mile from the summitt what to expect.  With great anticipation, my little dog who is content to follow by my heels strained on his leash for the final push to the top.  I only see him…

Been a week // An update

So it's been a little over a week since I've had "Jack", who I've decided to rename "Mickey". Now to get him a proper tag. So here's a little update on how we're doing...

I took him to the vet earlier this week, and she said that he needed to wear an e-collar again (that is the cone of shame for anyone that doesn't know. Haha.) because he's been licking his neuter suture, and he's been biting at his butt area. I was worried that he has fleas, but she combed him and said it…

Chase's socialization progress :)

This morning my mom and I took all three of our furbabies on a dog walk to benefit a local no-kill shelter. My mom has two yorkies and I (of course) have Chase, my Pem.

I was a little nervous. Chase needs work with his socialization skills. He is always barking and growling at strangers as they approach and pass. I wanted him to have this new experience in order to help him learn to be around new people and new animals.

When we first got there, he went crazy barking at everyone.…

T2B

Wish us luck, we're trying our first T2B next weekend.  Bandit competes in Open in AKC.  And since he's fast and I'm old and slow, we are experts at the rear cross (not fast enough to do front crosses)..

Lincoln!

Things with Lincoln are looking up! Oh my goodness so much stress! Me and Hollis have absolutely fallen in love with her! Only catch is we cannot have a dog were we are living. Our lease is up in July which really is not too far away. We are looking for a house to buy which is exciting, but in the meantime Lincoln is living with my dear friend Lynn. I've been going to see her everyday, we typically go for a 4-5 mile walk/ run and, play in the field by Lynns house, and then about an hour of…

AKC Agility Event Palmetto, FL April 28-29th

Baxter entered his second AKC event this past weekend. We entered Time 2 Beat, Jumpers with Weaves, and Standard for Saturday and Sunday. Time 2 Beat is an interesting and new event for AKC. There is one course and all the dogs run it. It is typically a higher level difficulty and dogs from novice to excellent compete to get the fastest time. Points are given based on your dog's time compared to the fastest…

Sparkle Comes Home!

I begin my efforts to get a second Corgi back about this time last year.  Life events and nature conspired against me and I'd about given up, telling Gromit he would just have to wait for another playmate until maybe the Fall or Spring.

There was an opportunity to get a female Pembroke pup back at the first of April but at the last minute that didn't work…

Help!! Jealousy issues?

As you all know I brought home my new corgi, copper, yesterday. He is six weeks and Chancey is about five months. Well Chancey was always very affectionate and always showered me with kisses. As of today however she has been completely indifferent towards me, even though I'm trying to give her way more attention than copper. By indifferent I mean no more cuddles, kisses, or coming over when called. She squirms when I try to cuddle her or hug her, and she flat out refuses any kind of kisses,… Continue

Happy Birthday, Ellie!

Happy birthday, Ellie!

My little Ellie-girl is 1 year old today and I can't believe how fast it all went by.  It seems like just a few months ago I was eagerly awaiting pictures of her from the breeder.  Now she's a whole year old and getting bigger all the time!  She's such an important part of our family and I am so happy that we brought her into our lives.  :)

No birthday is complete without some sort of celebration, so I planned some fun for Ellie and…

Welcome home Copper!!

Hello all :) well after ten long and scary hours I am finally home with my second and final furbaby. Halfway there my truck decides to stop working and halfway back home it does it again. With Gods blessing we barely made it home and although my first vehicle is now probably gone we can only hope this little guy was worth all the trouble! Chancey my six month old was a little snotty at first but she's all warmed up now although a little too rough when she plays. Copper is learning his name and… Continue

The little things in life

Sometimes the little things make you happy.  We rescued Butler almost a year ago.  I've never seen him play with a toy although I suspected he did because the green squeaky bone moved around the yard.  Last night he came running in the house with the green squeaky bone and was throwing it around and just having a great time.  It was great to see him playing-it is so different from the dog that was scared of the grass in the yard.

Who would shoot a corgi with a pellet or bb gun??

We had a little emergency trip to the vet last night after a wild frap session resulted in a hurt leg ;-<   Chewey was frapping through the house and out the backdoor just as someone was coming in and he bounced off the door and into some patio furniture.  I guess he must have caught his back leg along the way because he let out some blood-curdling cries for several minutes and then wouldn't put any weight on his leg...;-/p>

So, rather than second guess myself all…

It's Bento's 1st Birthday!

It's Bento's first birthday!  I can't believe how my furbaby has grown.  To watch him grow from the little 6.6 lb peanut to the big 30 lb peanut is such a joy.

Bento, you deserve your birthday treats today!  Mommy and Daddy loves you!!
